Pretty good set
bobber•May 30, 2018
Pretty good set. Don't now if they would hold up well under everyday shop use but for the home tool box. Do just fine.
As others have mentioned, do come covered with oil but they are just mild steel. You need to keep them coated in oil else they will rust and be useless. So that's just nature of the beast. Chances are if your using them, it's on an engine anyway and your hands already dirty. Wasn't a big issue for me.

I think feelers with an angled tip will be a better choice for measuring valve clearance

I can't review the product because the mailing envelope contained only the ziplock bag which should have contained the gap feeler.
Amazon did initate a refund... but now I have to order again thus delaying my project.
Just as well... I think feelers with an angled tip will be a better choice for measuring valve clearance.

Thorough selection of feelers - heavy coat of oil when received.

Thorough selection of feelers. Come apart easily if you want to pull a specific feeler for a dedicated task. This is loaded with oil, to prevent corrosion during shipping from China I assume, so you need to wipe off each feeler - and then likely do that 3-4 times more before 90% of the oil is gone.
Great Build Quality, Great Metric Tool
Connor Bunch•February 5, 2018
I got this item exactly as described, and after unboxing it I was pleased to note the item's great build quality. It's a real solid tool, and it has everything I need. This tool is certainly geared towards making METRIC measurements. Each paddle matches a specific measurement in MILLIMETERS and that measurement is converted to inches for convenience. That means you have nice, normal metric measurements like 0.04mm, 0.05mm etc. OTHER feeler gauges are built with imperial measurements in mind, and although those are great for measuring things in inches, they are inconvenient for making metric measurements because you end up with numbers like 0.038 mm and 0.635mm. I bought this to measure the valve clearances on my Yamaha motorcycle. This tool is great for that because the specifications that I have for those clearances are listed in the metric system, of course. That means this tool allows me to easily take measurements without ending up with any weird numbers.
Don't buy this.

Made in China..... over half of these are off by a few thousandths, the .0015 blade actually measures .006.....i measured every blade using two different calipers one of which is good to .00001.
too bad, this would have been a awesome deal for the money. It is well made just not very accurate.....
2-14-18 UPDATE: I was contacted by the company and offered a replacement for the gauge I purchased..... well a week later I received the replacement and this one is even worse than the first one. more than 80 percent of the blades are off by .001in some are off by as much as .0025in, to make matters worse almost 25 percent of them have a bad edge on them making them .005in off at the leading edge.......
great customer service.... terrible product.
