READ THIS BEFORE BUYING or USING!

I ordered this battery unit specifically for diving. It came on the exact day it was promised.
I just used this unit for a shark dive in Riviera Beach, Florida. The mystery to me was the picture that accompany's the Amazon description of the product. I have a Hero5 and the plug that goes into the camera case (camera case not included with the battery charger) does not even resemble the plug for the Hero5 case. The plug for the Hero5 case is round and there are no thumb screws as pictured. I struggled with figuring out what case to order to fit the Hero5 that would accept this "round" plug. I think the case featured in the picture is a 3 or 4.
I contacted Suptig through this site and they got back to me immediately. I ordered the case they recommended: (Suptig Case Replacement Waterproof Case Protective Housing for GoPro Hero 6 Gopro Hero 5 Sport Camera For Underwater charge Use Water Resistant) and it fit perfectly. I've attached a picture of the Hero5 case, the Suptig battery unit and they are attached to a SeaLife Tray I use for lights.I also attached a video I shot using the battery extender. I would have had to change batteries 3 times to get this entire video. The video is a culmination of 114 separate scenes.
PROs:
*I used the Go Pro and Suptig battery charger for over 3 hours and the battery was 71% upon surfacing....amazing and a game changer if you're using a 128GB microSD card.!
CONs:
*The case leaked but that was on the last dive at 90' and the Hero 5 was just damp, not wet. The next time I use it, I will silicone the O-rings....maybe my fault for not doing so.
*There are NO, Zip, Zero, Nada instructions. Having NO instructions forced me to give this 4 stars. If I had instructions I would be able to figure out when this unit is fully charged. There are lights on the unit but I have no idea what they mean. Instructions would this a 6 star rating.
The bottom line; if you need this for extending the battery for a long shoot...GET IT. It definitely works. If you are not handy, ask questions and I'm sure Suptig will help.

Very basic piece of kit, with a single bi-directional MicroUSB port and GoPro mounts on the top and bottom of the battery. I bought this so that I could power the camera for long term time lapses. I realized after I bought it that I needed a compatible waterproof housing for the camera itself, to allow for the charging pass thru. Since I'm not using it underwater, or in an extreme environment, I can just use the camera in a different mount and the battery will keep it going for hours. Does not include any instructions, but does come with some mounting accessories.
I wish I could use the battery to charge other devices, such as my phone.

Got this to go with our collection of go pro products. We have a casing but it's the right one. Ours doesn't have the plugin on the side, so we will have to purchase the casing if we want to use it underwater when we go scuba diving. It does seem to hold a charge. We can still keep it for a backup power charger. We didn't notice any whining of the battery like someone mentioned in a review.
CONS:
-Does not come with any instructions what so ever, so you have to figure it out for yourself or go online and look at the reviews on the ones that tell you how to set it up.
-The battery indicator doesn't show you if it's charged or not.
NOTE: you need to purchase the waterproof casing for this, sold separately.

Works great until about 2 weeks ago when the charging port now needs to have a piece of paper to hold the charger in the right place. We have all had those types of phones an electronic equipment so we learn to deal with it. I rarely use it so it isn't from mishandling. I haven't tried to contact the manufacturer of this product yet. I might try and do so in the next couple of days. Will update when I do

I received the package today and was super excited. I finally had the last piece i needed for my trip next month. After i placed my camera on and plugged it in i tested it with a 20 minute 4k video test. The battery kept my camera at the same percent the entire time. But then i watched the video. The battery whines like crazy enough to block out all other sounds in the clip.i tried all sorts of fixed but in the end nothing worked. If you are using it for time lapses its great! but for anything that you want audio its not recommended. I am returning this product.
