Nice design, weak plastic.

I like the design, but the plastic is low quality and becomes extremely brittle in even moderately cold conditions. Part of shutoff valve broke off under gentle finger pressure around 30 degrees (no, the water in the hose wasn't frozen, it was at the trailhead after getting out of the hot car). Ok, fine. I continued to use it when wanting a 2L bladder, just using a knife to pry up the valve to turn the flow on.
This weekend the plastic catch where you close the lever broke off under a gentle attempt to close it, rendering it largely useless. Given the low cost, it might be worth considering as a disposable item for front country use. If it had broken like that during one of the multi-pitch climbs I took it up (coincidentally including some near Mazama, WA) I may have been in trouble.

I have now had 3 of these bladders all fail on me in the same spot. The lower handle attach point bends when filled and breaks. The first time I contacted CS for mazama and they replaced it no questions asked, at that time I just purchased the short 2L bladder from Amazon because it would get here faster. Fast forward about 3 months and a total of 3 uses with the short bladder and none with the new replacement I pack both for a 20mi trail race. Morning of race short bladder has failed, switch to brand new bladder, makes it 10.25mi before failing right before the most exposed sections of the race......now I have another 9.75 miles of exposed terrain and I am down to my 2 16oz bottles which I had just topped off at the only aid station mile 8. This product is a cool idea and Mazama CS is great in my experience, but this particular bladder needs some work design wise I feel
It will be broken after one closure

Perfect smaller bladder

Got one of these as a gift and ordered another to go stay in my hunting pack. Works perfect, easy to take out and refil, hose detached which is nice when your refilling it and it doesn't drag on the ground.

The stiffness of the bladder, allows the water to slosh instead of more naturally with the body. And it was brand new, and the seal didn't line up properly and it leaked all over my entire pack.
