Absolutely awesome sound! The sound processing is slow and it adds some lag, but for the price I paid, absolutely best bang for the buck!
Another issue I was having is that I was not getting any sound when I accessed my apps like Netflix, Amazon video and You tube

I read where there are issues with the TV switching to BD when using the BD/DVD player, where you have to switch back to CBL. To correct this I had to go into the setup on the BD/DVD player then go into "settings' then "system" and turn OFF the ANYKEY+ SETTING. THIS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. Another issue I was having is that I was not getting any sound when I accessed my apps like Netflix, Amazon video and You tube, therefore I had to go into the receiver settings and go to "# 5 hardware" then go to #1 HDMI" and turn on the HDMI CEC. IT CORRECTED THE ISSUE.
I upgrade from the TX-NR626. The TX-NR 676 is outstanding. I have a 7.1 Polk TSI speaker system, ultra 4k Samsung player and the LG OLED. The Onkyo receiver compliments very well with this setup. After correcting the issues described above I am very pleased with the 676. A point of information one may consider to go to banana plugs when connecting the speakers to the receiver saves time and assures a good connection.
The connection was easy but was getting a message stating an issue with Dolby Vision. I contacted Onkyo Support and they were helpful in correcting the problem through a firmware update. They suggested to download the firmware update through the USB and not through the wireless. I found this to be easier then I thought. Download the zip file on your computer to a designated file. Then unzip the file to a USB flash drive, then just plugin the back of the receiver and go into the menu and proceed to #7 MISCELLENOUS then to #3 FIRMWARE UPDATE. NO ISSUE AND CORRECTED.

Great receiver at reasonable price

Weird receiver..... has tons of features....some behavior I find annoying.
For example, I have 4K 8000 series 65" Samsung and 5.1 Polk set-up. Picture and sound are great.
However, it switches by itself to 4K BD for no reason (bd player turns on automatically). I use HDMI for all inputs/outputs. Including ARC.
Very annoying. Maybe need to switch to a different HDMI cable brand for my TiVo cable box?.
The problem was with the CEC of BD player. The issue has been resolved.

Nice receiver. Has great features that many receivers in the price point do not offer. Had a previous Onkyo that lasted almost 10 years and was replaced when it finally started giving us problems of significant and excessive sound popping. All the new audio options and 7.2 finally made the speakers installed in the ceiling and walls all come to life!
Everything connected just fine and sound quality is amazing

Purchased to replace an aging 12 year old Onkyo home theater receiver. Everything connected just fine and sound quality is amazing! The remote is great. There are a couple of things I expected from Onkyo at this price point that they just don't deliver on. 2 zone speaker set, back lit remote, and powering on, as well as switching sources takes way too long.
I could have thought I saw 2 zone in the description, but can't find it anymore. That's on me. Nevertheless, my last receiver had 2 zone speaker set up. Just like this one, it was at an entry level price point.
Powering on the receiver; it is excruciatingly slow to begin producing sound. Same thing happens when switching sources.
All in all a very good value.
