It works for a few days at a time then a certain PDF will cause it to crash, then after that it only prints garbage ASCII characters. I downloaded the latest drivers but still have the issue. The MS317dn is not even listed in the driver install program. I have tried re-installing under the other listed names but no luck. (I'm running Win 7 Pro SP1)

Fast printer and prints both sides

In our business it is important to have reliable printers in multiple locations through out our building (18 printers in vital work locations). We print hundreds of documents per printer per day and I use Lexmark because they are relatively inexpensive both in printer and per page costs. I try to keep printers down to one or two models so ordering and storing toner is without complication. I usually get 2 to 4 yrs of life per printer in what I consider moderate to heavy use. The only frustrating part of Lexmark like any company is that there will be a model that works perfectly fine and I am able to have standardized toner, then that model is discontinued and then we have to transition to new model where I need more than one type of toner on hand. We used to HP printers before - Lexmark lower my printing costs considerably both in cost of hardware and ongoing toner costs. They don't get 5 stars because I look back over the years - with each new model I find no increased performance, just planned obsolescence in todays throw away mindset.

This is an amazing value. Prints fast, great quality, prints double-sided and easy to set up (I used the Ethernet port with a static IP address). Unlike some of the printers I cross-shopped, this comes with an (albeit small) toner cartridge. Replacement cartridges are very inexpensive relative to HP, etc. Wow.
