Ugh, I should have known with the paper/fabric combo this would be too stiff to use regularly. I'm a male living in Brooklyn, NY and the city gets really hot and the subways can get dreadful, especially in the evening rush hour home, so I like to keep a (gender neutral-ish, masculin-ish) fan with me. Wanted a back up in case I loose my favorite fan but Amazon gives very little options that don't have floral designs, cheap lace or smiling kitty's. This one is useless to ME. ITS A GOOD FAN, JUST NOT WHAT I WANT. It's too big, too stiff and undeniably chinese, which is not bad, but not what I'm looking for. 4 stars because it's good for what it is and too cheap to be worth the refund, 5 stars if it were smaller and didn't have paper, only fabric.

This seems like a sturdy fan. At the very least, it's big. It's not a hand fan you put into your purse, but I knew that going in. I bought it as part of a costume and it works perfectly for that purpose. The mechanics of it are a little wonky though - one fold always needs an extra push when I'm collapsing the fan. Not sure if I have to break it in a little more or not.
