Looks to be a nice unit, does not fit on Harley CVO Limited
John T. Ertz✓ Verified Purchase•October 24, 2023
The carrier looks to be a nice unit, however it does not fit onto the tour pak rack on the Harley CVO Limited, nor will it fit onto the passenger seat even with the tour pak adjusted all the way to the rear.
On the passenger seat I would have to sit about 3"-4" forward on the seat as this overlaps the riders seat by several inches.
The lower rating for the "comfort" is because the pad that came with this unit is a smooth vinyl pad, and I doubt that it would last long with a dog trying to get traction on curves by digging it's nails into it.
Not sure what I am going to do for a pet carrier as this is the second (and smaller) one that I have tried, and my dog is certainly not one that would ride "on the seat" without being inside a crate of some sort.
Sadly, I'll be returning this and might not be able to be taking my dog with on rides.

She loves it!

Great quality, stitched well around the zippers, solid hard sides and bottom: However, the instructions to attach this, or even explain how to use the straps are HORRIBLE (and almost got the product a 4 star) but it's ultimately a solid product that I feel safe carrying my pup in!
Fits my Vulcan 900 Classic, keeps my Service Dog safe! Great carrier

After looking at a dozen carriers, and reading a LOT of reviews, I went with the Kuryakyn Pet Palace to carry my service dog with me. When she sees me grab my helmet, she walks straight to her harness, ready to go. She's happy to ride with me, everywhere I go. My bike is my daily driver, her comfort and wanting to ride with me earns the 5 stars!
It fits with space on the back OEM-ish seat on my Vulcan 900 Classic LT. The straps for the sissy bar could have more adjustment, but still work.
Since ordering it last month, we've put about 1,500 miles on the bike in chilly weather and desert heat in and around Albuquerque. Windshield on, keeping the side closed up, and with a blanket It kept her warm when it was cold. With the vents open, and a white bottom bed, it keeps her cool. When it's warm out, she mostly sits up, head out (with her doggles on for protection from the sun, wind, bugs that don't splat on me, and road debris!) The option to lay down and have a side vent makes her more comfortable when it's windy, or she gets tired of standing with her head out, looking around.
Our longest day out on the bike has been about 6 hours, with frequent stops (at least once an hour.) The water bowls came in handy. A collapsible bowl would have came in more handy, motorcycles don't have a lot of space, it's all premium. She was comfortable, and the Pet Palace didn't loosen through the trip. I check the straps every trip, it stays pretty tight.

I am very satisfied with my Kuryakyn Pet Palace. Most importantly, my dog likes it. Yes it is quite pricey but it is very sturdy and most importantly is is secure and safe for the dog. These are for small dogs only. Keep that in mind. I have a 17 pound rat terrier; the weight is no problem, however my pup is long and lanky for his breed so he's about the max physical size limit. that said, it is as described; the bottom is rigid and the pad is removable, washable and padded. I added some extra padding and that seems to please my dog but he's a bit spoiled. the straps are really good, you can find almost any combination to fit it to a top box carrier or seat. This is a large piece of luggage so it does take up all the passenger seat and then some. One of my bikes is a large 500 cc scooter and I need to disconnect it when I get gas (tank is under the seat). It only takes an additional minute if you set the carrier up properly. Be prepared for a lot of comments and questions when you ride with you dog. I do want to stress that I spent time acclimating my pup to the whole set up. First, I had him sit in the pet palace while next to me in the house. I'd give him treats to reward him staying in it. Then I attached it to the bike and just had him sit in it; again rewards with treats. Next I did the same on the bike with the engine running (started after I put him in it). I put him on my Aprilia scooter first since it is a lot quieter. Then I took him up and down the street slowly with my rear-views pointed in so I could watch. Eventually we worked up to the Moto Guzzi and 70 MPH. Also, keep the internal leash just long enough for the dog to sit or lay down. Absolutely no longer! Always keep it on him or her! If you want a great return on your investment, take your time training your pup and be patient. You will be rewarded. The only other caution I have is you may not be able to ride alone ever again. My pup gets excited when I grab my helmet.

This is a great dog box for a motorcycle and it's actually a pretty nice piece of luggage in itself, and would easily work as personal luggage as well. Very well made; lots of tie-on straps, connections and pockets on the outside, including a pocket that will hold the two included food/water bowls. My initial preference for this one over another similar item on the Amazon site was that this one has a pretty rigid bottom to it, whereas the other one does not, which is a problem when you try to snug-it down tight to your rack. Heavy-duty construction; seems very sturdy although the sides are of course not absolutely rigid. The rigid bottom is more stable and helps keep the whole thing from collapsing on itself when you snug-down the straps to your bike. We have this on my 2016 Indian Chief Classic's rear luggage rack, which is considerably smaller than this box, but it works with just 4-6 inches or so of overhang on the rear, and is just an inch or so behind my back when I'm in my seat (almost working as a bit of a backrest). My ONLY complaint is that it comes with two tie-on straps of one kind and two of another. I'd think anyone would need either four of one kind or four of the other kind, ideally. In our case, and I think for most people, it would have been nice to have four of the same kind of straps. As it is, we had to jerry-rig two of the straps to get them to work properly, but in the end, it all works fine. Some photos or illustrations, too, of how the straps can attach to different types of racks and fasten points would have been helpful, but it ain't rocket science and I'm sure whatever kind of bike you have, the included straps will work with it somehow. We connected our straps to the lowest D rings on each corner of the box and down and around my saddlebag spools. The box has a nice padded removable and rigid "mattress" in the bottom, and a nice internal D ring attachment and short leash to connect to your dog's collar inside the box for optimum safety. We probably won't have the top panel open for our dog when we're moving -- not sure how much wind and bugs she'd get that way -- but that internal leash, properly adjusted, would prevent the dog from sticking its head out too far or jumping out. The mesh on the vents seems a little fine; maybe some slightly larger spaces in it would let the dog see out a little better, but you of course want to put safety first so I guess it all makes sense. FYI, our dog is a Maltese/Poodle mix, about 12-13 pounds, and she has plenty of room, although she cannot sit up normally when this box is closed. But plenty of room lying down. Also, if your dog is new to riding as ours was, take it easy when introducing it to riding. I forgot to take it easy on my acceleration and deceleration, and sudden irregularities in my speed, and she threw up in her box the first day out. Which only makes sense; I should have known better. Otherwise we've had her out twice more in it now and she seems to love being with us. We almost went with a much lighter-weight typical plastic dog box like you'd take in your car, but I'm really glad we spent considerably more on this one. It'll last a long time, is very well made and most importantly, should be very safe and comfortable for our dog.
