I was initially excited about this product particularly the individual device level parental control tools but so far it has been a disappointing. Here are a few highlights:
Wifi speed: Speed performance is very average and slower than my 3 year old Apple router. It seems to slow down sites considerably, perhaps scanning content as it is streaming.
Software: very buggy - none of the parental controls have actually worked for me. For example, if I set a time limit for a device, it has never worked. Starting a or sharing a guest network is frustrating and never worked for me. It is actually embarrassing to do this when a guest arrives, taking over 30 minutes and several reboots of the system and eventually failing to work at all.
Setup: I had a lot of issues setting it up, taking 3 -4 tries and over 45 minutes. One of the issues was that the connectors and power socket are too close to one another and can barely take in ethernet cables.
Customer Service: I had a very nice experience with customer service in transferring my existing Norton account to include the new service. However, my requests for bug-fixes and problems with functions in the router have gone unanswered.

Overall, I am not trilled with this product. If Norton fixes the bugs, it may get a better experience for me. I am not convinced that security at the router level is actually a good approach as it seems to be slowing down streaming with occasional disconnects.

Great so far! I have another firewall and this will sometimes pick up things it missed!

Phenomenal router. Looks absolutely beautiful but also performs very well! We are getting the maximum speed of our internet connection 155 MBit through the router every time, even from outside across the street!

I saw many people complaining about the speed of the router, but that is because they are likely using a Speedtest service to test the internet connection speed that is being disrupted by the deep packet inspection process of this router. That is part of the security fesutures. If you turn off that feature you'll see the speed go way up. It's not giving an accurate measurement because the deep packet inspection disrupts the speed test, but not the actual internet connection speed.

To see accurate speed test results with this router, fast.com works best we have found.

At any rate, we are very happy with this router so far. It's really a fine piece of equipment!

It's even more beautiful in 'person' than it looks in the pictures. I thought it looked kind of tacky in the pictures, but in 'person' it looks really classy, I think at least :)

I like my Norton Core.I feel back in control of my home network for the first time in a while and excited enough to finally write a review.

I have about 30 devices on my network between computers, tablets, phones, gaming consoles, Fire TVs, Alexa, Smart Lights/Lamps/Switches/Scale/ TV, Connected Receiver, Printers, Security Cam, Projector, Camera etc. and have been waiting for something like this for a long time.

This is the first time I know each and every device on my network - all easily identifiable by name and not by some indecipherable MAC address. I love the activity stream and alerts that tell me among other things if any new device has joined my network on my app on my phone which is with me at all times. I don't know how good the protection will work on these devices yet, but like the fact that i have added at least an extra deterrent for someone snooping around trying to look for a way in via a backdoor.

Also, I really like the integrated ability to control internet access by device, user, time of day, time spent online, type of content accessed and the ability to turn off the internet on demand.

I have already sent back my Verizon router and connected my Core directly to the internet with the help of Verizon's helpdesk ( I have an online cable subscription) and so there is no way to access internet without going via the Core.

There is a small lag that i notice sometimes in terms of speed but given the added control over my network and its security, it seems worth it to me. No noticeable change in streaming quality or FaceTime chats. I have not yet felt the need to prioritize access to any device.

I would enthusiastically recommend it especially for non networking geeks with multiple devices and/or need to control internet access. I have always felt like there should be an app for all of that, and now these is and it is very good.

I have a smallish home so don't know how the wifi performance with keep up over a bigger area.

Would like to see even more control on the network -like devices have to be approved before they can join, performance and analytics charts like Strava for the network :), and set times for whole wifi/internet to be up/down. Am also curious to try out the on demand guest network feature which i have not tested yet.

Arrived this morning , out of the box looks beautiful. Had it set up in less then 5 mins. Speed seems to be much faster, so far super happy.
