It should be recommended to measure the tear and add an inch to size of patch needed for best results. The size ordered may be too small.

I don't sew, but I can iron. I used the patch on a black pair of jeans. Worked perfectly. Covers most shades of jeans. I cut patch to size. Also, I would recommend heating the patch a touch longer than suggested and not moving the patch AT ALL until it cools. In fact, I used an ice cube in a ziplock bag to cool the patch. Once it cools, the glue sets and you're golden.

I used these to patch holes in my jeans at the top of where my thighs meet, admittedly. They iron on nicely, though a bit stiff, and colors are not perfect but very close, with a good variety! The only strange drawback? It is so loud when I walk now. I'm sure they're soften up with time and washing but I found this hilarious and awkward in public.

Ironed it from the inside and it has a strong hold and can't tell there's a patch.
Product says that it can be re-ironed up to three times if starts to lossen- Nice!
