I wanted a bit of support for my low back when I work as a cashier scanning items from side to side. I injured my back from lifting too heavy of an object and wanted to protect it from further strain. This was not a real serious injury but very painful.
This easy velcro fitting support was just right for me. Easy to take off and put on and not so stiff it felt restrictive but just enough to let me know I was doing too much so take it easy.
I consider it a light support, but it does have the nice stiff vertical pieces in the back so it feels like when you put your hands back there to press in when your back hurts.
Since I have furry pets, the fur can get caught in the velcro and probably render it not to stick after awhile. I keep picking it off and hang it where they can't get near it when I am not using it.
I am small (100 lbs) and liked the extra small size which wasn't offered with some other brands.
