Major upgrade from the original ends that came with my cables.
Handy✓ Verified PurchaseSeptember 23, 2023
I originally purchased two sets of Arklove 1pcs 6ft 14awg Premium Heavy Duty Braided Wire for a amplified sub shaker set up I built, that is attached to my computer chair. And even though I gave myself several feet clearance so I could pull my chair out to unplug from the desk, I still managed to tug on one of these plugs a bit to much and it broke.

So after looking at the way they built that original plug, I realized that it was an inferior design. It used a pin and swivel set up that only had about 1cm of contact with the base "thus why it broke so easily" but also uses a free spinning center. And that spinning center in theory is supposed to tighten up when inserted by putting pressure on the two ends and thus create a contact point.

Problem is, it doesn't work. When inserted, it should not spin and give a tight contact. But it didn't. So while my shaker is bumping around doing it's thing, those contacts are getting jostled around and giving bad contact.

When the these new ends arrived, I quickly realized why the centers never seated on those old ends. They are way smaller than these. When you plug these in the first time, they are really tight. But after that, they will go in without too much hassle, but stay tight.

These are built to much better specs and are a much heavier gauge of metal. The stems are robust and make solid contact and don't vibrate when inserted.

Since my cables had the same type of contacts, it was super easy to pull the old ones off and replace.

My only small complaint is that I wish the colors were more visible. It's not a deal breaker, but you have to make sure you are putting them in the right way.

They came in a medium size heavy duty zip bag with smaller zip bags with each pair. None were damaged or scratched up.

Would buy again.
These are the best!!!

I originally ordered just one pack of these. After using them I decided to order more because these are the best I've used and I have used just about every style there is. Two Maine things I love is...
1: it fits big wire no problem. I'm using it on 12 gauge wire and it fits not only the stripped wire but the insulation jacket as well. You could easily fit 10 gauge.
2: You can use heat shrink as I did (see second picture) and the outer sleeve still screws on without issue.

The only issue I had that others complained about was that they fit extremely tight. They went in perfectly into my in ceiling atmos speakers but were extremely tight going into my amps. I used needle nose pliers to squeeze the banana plugs so they wouldn't be as tight. Very easy to do and I actually prefer this otherwise if it was fine going into my amps they may have been loose going into my atmos speakers. I recommend using these and I will always look for these when ever I need more.
The most legit banana plugs I could find on Amazon, IT TRULY MAKES A DIFFERENCE IN SOUND QUALITY!!

NEW PREFACE:: I am kind of glad I first bought the horribly magnetic, horribly made and GOLD PAINTED Sewell crimp on plugs... Changing from those to these FosPower plugs plus the Monoprice 90° plugs, I am flabbergasted at the difference they make in sound quality. I have heard people say that they can hear the difference and even as an audiophile I was skeptical..... but my skepticism has been completely erased by what I am hearing with my own ears. I waited a few days to make sure I wasn't just tripping before updating this review 🤣....but it has become clear to me how much a difference plugs made from the right materials actually make!!! I am 100% serious that the bass coming out of my Polk Signature Series tower speakers has at least doubled at the same volume. I can also now turn the volume up Way past my max volume before, without any distortion and much more clarity and less harsh highs. Everything just sounds warmer in general now which is amazing!!!! This is dangerous info for me... because now I'm thinking about making some really nice custom wires to see how much of a difference that makes ðŸ'„ðŸ'„🤣 OK onto the review of the actual plugs here~~

These seem like decent connectors. I can't tell if they are brass or copper, but they only have a slight hint of a magnetic property when testing them with a very powerful magnet. I was easily able to fit x2 - 14ga wires into it for bi-wiring purposes, including screwing on the collar. (As seen in my example pic) The gold plating on the tips seems legit and not painted like some of the plugs from Sewell... I have tested and tried quite a few plugs from Amazon and most seem to be crap. These however hold up better than most! These and the Monoprice 90° banana plugs with the black and red rubber sleeves. The latter are gold plated copper and have zero magnetic properties. (if you need 90° banana plugs)

UPDATE: still the best plugs I have found, but upon full install found two issues. One is a defect where a set of the plug threads for the barrel cover body weren't cut right. The body's do not tighten and stay loose because of that. Obvious issue for vibration with metal on metal...

The other issue is that even though these say they can fit different gauge wires, they seem to be geared more towards 12 or 10 gauge. I am using semi solid strand 14 gauge and find that unless I fold the wire over to make it double thick, the bolts use up all the thread and seem to become kind of loose inside the body. They won't fully seat and keep spinning no matter how much you tighten. They seem to stay secure still but I just wonder about longevity over time with vibrations. So I just doubled up the wire and they seated fine! Not the worst issue in the world, but just kind of a pain since you have to strip the wire longer than you normally would so you can fold it over.

ANOTHER UPDATE: I had to remove these plugs from the wire to connect them to a crappy spring terminal amp while my better amp was in the shop. The issue I wrote about with the set screws "bottoming out" on smaller gauge wire became a more pronounced issue! I could not unscrew the set screws anymore and just had to cut the wires... So that means I will need to purchase more of these to replace the ones I cannot get wire back into. Not the best design, but still one of the best plugs I have found on Amazon.
These are quality, but some may have one major flaw
phubans✓ Verified PurchaseAugust 30, 2023
I'm impressed with the quality of these. They seem to be very good quality, however, I had to return and exchange them for another pair because not one, but TWO of these were affected by an issue which rendered them unusable. Each plug features two small screws which are used to secure the speaker wire, but in two of these plugs, one of those screws was manufactured too deeply into the plug that it became unthreaded and impossible to remove. I don't have weak hands or bad tools, so when I'm telling you that these screws weren't coming out, they definitely were not coming out. They were basically lodged beyond the point of no return. It could have been a manufacturing error or maybe just something that happened during transportation (vibration caused them to go beyond their limit?)

Either way, this fault that was common enough to occur twice in two separate pairs was enough to hold them back from getting 5 stars.
Be careful of the screws

About half of these the screws were to far into and had trouble un screwing them. Only 1 was so bad I couldn't get the screw out no matter what I did. A good design though. Fit my 14 gage speaker wire.
