Works great. Incredible build quality. Don't waste your money on another brand. Stainless U-bolt and high-grade nuts. This is built to last. Unique lock washers really grip but might rough things up over multiple install/removal cycles.
For those who say it loosens over time or doesn't stop up and down movement, they might be installing it wrong. You need to make sure to install it in a way that pulls the hitch down to the base of the receiver. After installing, turn the nuts in opposite directions to jam them together, keeping them from loosening.
Better yet, cut a piece of thin galvanized steel strap (any hardware store) and shim inside your receiver. Shimming, combined with this clamp, is the PERFECT combination.

The hitch tightener is made of approx 3/8" steel and is heavier / better quality than I expected. It installs and uninstalls easily. One side has a hole and the other a slot indicating that the people who designed it know how to make something easy and fast to install. It's frustrating to work with something that once the u-bolt is worn and bent you have to struggle with aligning two holes.
The tightener lip fits against the hitch insert and the flat side against the receiver. It all but eliminates vertical movement between the hitch and receiver and the resulting clunking or squeaking.

I used it to stabilize something. I had to take it off and on with every use and it broke. I think if you were to just leave it in place it would last
But it - it works!

Amazing! Super easy to install an it removed all the wobble out of the hitch attachment. I used it for a bike rack and extension hitch. The bike rack was only 1 1/2 inch adapter but it worked perfectly on it too.
