My pocket knife MVP

I think if you're going to collect pocket knives at least one of them has to be a Spyderco, and lately this is the one for me. It checks all of the boxes by doing everything I need a pocket knife to do. It's light as a feather so I only remember I have it on me when I need it. The VG-10 steel is sharp and solid. The ergonomics are fantastic. The blade is non-threatening (almost cute) so it doesn't scare anybody. I've read some reviews about the zome green not looking as nice or somehow different in person, but mine looks exactly like the one pictured so perhaps there was a bad batch of handles along the way.
The Dragonfly might be a tad overpriced, but I don't mind having paid a little extra for it. There is a noticeable difference in quality between this knife and Spyderco's budget Tenacious/Persistence/Ambitious line. Those all feel cheap to me, like they're Spyderco wannabes. The Dragonfly feels like it's a 'real' Spyderco, and well worth the extra 10 to 20 dollars over their entry level knives. I currently rotate 5 knives for EDC purposes, and this is the most frequently used.

Pocket Scalpel

I received this little gem today and I must say I am impressed. This is my first Spyderco product and I wasn't sure exactly what to expect. None of my friends use this brand, and I havnt even held a Spyderco product in my hand. I purchased this knife solely based on customer reviews and I wanted a small, "legal" EDC knife. My first thought when I opened the package " is this knife a genuine spyderco?" As best I can tell it sure is. The blade grind is perfect. The action is nice and smooth with good snap lock. Blade centering is perfect. This is one of the sharpest pocket knives I have used, practically a pocket scalpel. Blade blade metal is vg-10 and seems to have a very fine edge not coarse and slightly grainy like some "Case" brand pocket knives I own. Although "Case" knives are very nice and have a good working edge, this Spyderco seems to be one step up with the fine edge. The Dragonfly 2 came with a lite coating of clear thin weight oil on the pivot point of the blade that I'm assuming is food grade oil. Overall I'm very pleased with this little knife, the blade shape sort of reminds me of a tiny skinner blade. Thanks for reading my review and putting up with my ramblings if you have made it this far.
BTW I'm not knocking "Case" brand pocket knives only comparing a great product with another great product. Case brand is certainly a traditional classic staple knife that is a great product. Thanks

I had one in the past but wow I forgot how much I missed it! It's the perfect size for an EDC for your average Joe. It's super sharp right out of the box and with the CPM S30V it will stay sharp longer than cheeper steels. Even then, Spyderco's VG-10 is still an amazing steel but I love this CPM S30V more! I think this will stay in the family is how good this knife is in my opinion. The quality of the knife and practicality of it's size and use is honestly why I give this a 5/5. It's a small knife but compared to other knives this size the dragonfly 2 reigns supreme.(Plus if pink is not your thing it comes in other colors, steels, and blade shape)
To put it as simple as possible 10/10 recommend. Sharp, small, and will last generations if taken care of. ! ...... Spyderco #1

This is my edc, it lives on my keychain and is so utterly unobtrusive that sometimes I forget I had it. This is a small, lightweight, sturdy little blade that holds it's edge well, is sharp as a razor straight out of the box, and looks beautiful to boot. I have tiny hands (even for a girl) so this is the perfect size for me - people with man-hands might find it a little small but the finger choil holds it and there's deep jimping on the back too. It's a great little knife, I highly recommend.
Almost perfect little knife

Love everything about this stealthy little razor of an EDC except for the back lock. Your fingers are in the blade path when you unlock it , and the spring tension on the blade, combined with a very small handle, makes for lots of cuts and nicks if you're not paying close attention. The back lock makes it a bit slow and awkward to close one handed, but certainly doable. The functions are utilitarian, not fidget spinner entertaining like say a Pm2.
The DF2 is incredibly light at 1.1 ounces with the clip removed. It completely disappears inside the change pocket of five-pocket jeans. I don't notice it bouncing around with my keys when I choose to carry it in a front pocket. It has gone through the wash a few times, and it is my most frequently misplaced knife due to it's small size and feather weight.
The short blade is very functional due to the 50/50 coil and aggressive jimping, but the small grip doesn't inspire too much confidence. The frame flexes a little, reminding you that it is a light duty knife. It is flickable, but you might have to tune the main pivot screw for optimal function.
The VG10 steel holds an edge reasonably well and resists corrosion. It is easily the sharpest factory blade I've ever seen, and the edge polished to a near mirror finish with a leather strop and green honing compound.
Overall, it's a great knife worthy of any collection, but I'm moving toward a lil Native for a more robust design with better ergonomics and a safer compression lock system.
