I wear this in the shop everyday. Metal working, wood working, everything I do this apron is there. The pockets are plenty roomy for small tools and my pencil so they are always at hand and I'm no longer looking. The length is great for protecting my clothes but I retain full easy movement from kneeling to walking. The straps are comfortable and despite the waxed weight (I love the stiffness) the whole apron is so light I don't even notice it.
And it looks good, too.

Not so great but....

Looked great out of the box . Felt like nice, sturdy canvas. On the job about a month and it got a nasty vertical rip that isn't going to repair easily. Disappointed to say the least. Should have lasted a lot longer.
Also all 3 pockets can unseen on one side seam within the first 2 weeks use. I wasn't happy about that but didn't care too much because I rarely use the pocket s. The rip was the end. I'm 90% sure the rip was the result of a flaw in the fabric.

After writing my original review I received a another new apron a couple days later! Pleasant surprise! So I'm trying the second apron to see how long it lasts. Good, bad, or ugly, the service dept. gets 5 stars for trying to solve the problem!

This is a very handy apron and didn't realize how helpful it could be. I didn't know I used my center punch enough to keep it on my person. It helped point out which were my go to tools.
It's a little more stiff than I imagined. I'd doesn't necessarily effect it's use, but it'll stick straight out from my hips after I stand up from squatting to pick something up.
I keep my speed square in the right pocket, and after a couple weeks it started to poke through the stitching. It wasn't much and now I keep it on the other side, we'll see how it goes over there.
Overall, I'm satisfied and it absolutely cuts down on time spent searching for a pencil. Also, keeping wood glue off my clothes is worth it enough.

I really, really like this shop apron

This apron arrived a day early. Out of the package its stiff and clearly well made. After sleeping in it for several nights it started to soften up - just kidding - the stiffness is an indication of the quality of the material. I have used it several days now and it is starting to move a bit more easily, but also I an getting used to it. It performs it's function very well indeed. I am a "wiper", and my pants and shirt would always be filthy at the end of a day's work. With this apron on, I can wear the same work clothes more than once. I really, really like it.
First impression from a weekend warrior.

Granted, I just bought this and don't have days of experience with it, much less years of service to look back on, but this apron seems like it will be with me a long time.
As to details, it provides good coverage. I'm a tall guy and it covers most of the front of my body, length-wise from mid-chest to my knees with the neck loop fully-extended. It is wide enough to cover my sides as well. They use single-stitching and the thread seems to be just thick enough to have been able to sew this material together so it is sufficient.
If you like lots of pockets, this probably won't light your world on fire. Personally, my tools are all near at hand and the three pockets it has are more than sufficient. They will probably end up holding more sawdust or metal filings than tools in my shop. The one thing I wish it had was a hammer loop.
The waxed canvas feels solid and it is stiff from the start - it will stand up by itself right out of the box. I expect it to relax over time but the material is sturdy and thick; I don't think I'll have to take it off when I weld or grind and it will probably provide some pretty good armor if something slips off of the grinding or buffing machines or gets kicked back by a saw.
All-in-all, this piece looks good and the material is solid. We will see how the build-quality holds up over time but as a weekend warrior, I expect it to fit my bill just fine. I've seen some aprons with more attention to the build but they have been significantly more expensive and not worth the price for what I need.
