I bought PCMover at Best Buy and it came with an Ethernet cable but after reading some of the reviews saying that the cable didn't work so well I followed some of the advice of others and decided to get the high speed USB cable instead of transferring over the internet. I followed all the guidelines to prepare for the transfer and the cable was recognized when I plugged it in and the transfer went smoothly.
I was glad I ordered the USB cable because I was able to avoid the frustration that some of the other reviewers were experiencing. Plan to use PCMover again to transfer an older laptop to a newer one.

While the product works every well it's the single use of the software that is the stumbling point. $59. each time to transfer greatly lessens the value of the cable.

The PCMover software worked fine. Unfortunately when I bought a new computer from HP they sent me the PCMover with an Ethernet cable, which will not work on either my old or new PC. Make sure you get the proper cable. I had to go on Amazon to purchase the Laplink 6' USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Transfer Cable for PCmover. Once I did everything worked fine. But I recommend you look at the instructions to be sure you disable security software, firewalls, and power settings. By talking with the folks at LapLink they made sure I had done everything I needed to do in order for the transfer to take place. You should avoid using WiFi to do the transfer. Use the proper cable and you will be happy you did.
