This is a very nice urinal. My husband does not want to use it yet. I can clearly see how beneficial it is going to be once he begin to use it. I gave it five stars because of the quality and I test it out with water. It is very nice.
Useful for shut ins.

My lady friend needed this.
Pros:
For a while, it was very useful and keenly helpful and appreciated. Can be used by both men and women. More versatile for shut-ins than travel-minded and hospital-type models. Fine opaque plastic for the collector vessel and the body-joining end. It's not something which most users simply toss when not needed anymore. Relatively inexpensive.
Cons:
Can be a little difficult to use sometimes without some spillage. Hose comes off too easily from its lid--simply stuck in. Hose is translucent--we can see urine. Typical PRC shortcuts. Hose is pretty long--it could be cut, I suppose. Naturally, users are reluctant. At times, urine may remain in the hose. Without special washing of those parts of the unit (not merely the collector vessel) the hose may appear as somewhat urine-colored.
This type of item reminds us of the unpleasant: Note that the 5-star reviews for this genre of item are from merely a few respondents. Given that I need a portable urinal someday, I'll attempt to obtain this (or similar). Recommended.

Easy to use and effective for an adult with mobility issues

My mother says it works for her. She suffers from incontinence, congestive heart failure, and reduced mobility. Her doctor occasionally prescribes water pills to purge excess fluids from her lower legs. She used the female urinal, and she says it works!
Position the urinal for best use.

It leaked horribly when I first used it, but I think it is due to not knowing how to place it and some urine going "backwards". I couldn't use it in a semi-recumbent position, as it leaked - but again, learning to to place it may fix that also. I am totally reliant on either briefs or this urinal. Please see if there is a way to place the "women's part" in a firmer position. The 'Female' adapter is ridged and sharp to tender parts. I wonder why the manufacture would give the men gentle, rounded edges, while the female adapter is so sharp with some unfinished edges along that cutting line. I attempted to use this last night multiple times without great success, as I just couldn't position it correctly; so I gave up and just put on a brief again so I could get some sleep. *sigh* As a RN, it isn't like I am that unfamiliar with urinals. Well, if it works out for you, it works. I'll still attempt to use it, though I'll need to get some professional cleaning done in the near future. : /
