I bought this unit without realizing how large it would have to be to accommodate my small collection of watches. This was an oversight on my part, but once I unpacked it I understood. That said, check the dimensions against your intended location! The winder itself works as advertised; it has different winding modes depending upon what your watch requires. Reading the manual that comes with the unit, I found that it probably over-winds most watches. I don't have the specs for how much my watches need to be wound, but a little research on the web showed me that most watches need somewhere between 650 to 950 turns per day. This winder does about 2,000 turns per day. While there are settings for clockwise, anti-clockwise, or bidirectional turns, they all result in the same number of turns per day. I resorted to putting my winder on a timer so that it only runs for a few hours each day. The mistake I've made is setting it to run at night, as the unit is in my bedroom and I can hear it in my sleep. The motors make a soft grinding noise, and there is also a cyclical thump that occurs every couple of seconds. It's not loud enough to keep me up or wake me up, but I am aware that it's there and operating. I used an app on my phone to measure the sound from about 3 feet (1 meter) away, and the winder operating is about 2 dB above the ambient sound level (37-38 dB) in my bedroom, and the thumps are about another 2 dB above that. When I received this unit, the box was in poor condition. Fortunately, it was packed as a box within a box, and the unit itself is packed with additional foam packing, and so despite the rough handling that it clearly received, it was undamaged and fully functional.

All told, it's not bad, but if you don't need to wind 8 watches, then there are probably better options out there.

Only have had this for a couple of days, but initial impressions:

It is BIG. 35" across. Which means a big box to ship it in. Looks very nice, high gloss black. Feels well made. Switches feel solid. The 8 watches in the winder are well displayed, the other 9 are hard to see. Plug it in, and DON'T FORGET TO TURN IT ON. Small on/off switch near power port. The modes per my instructions: Mode 1: 2 minutes clockwise winding pause for 6 Minutes repeat forever
Mode 2: 2 minutes counter clockwise winding pause for 6 Minutes repeat forever.
Mode 3: Mode 1 then Mode 2 repeat forever
Mode 4: 5 minutes clockwise winding no pause 5 minutes counter clockwise winding for 3 hours then pause for 9 hours.
It is whisper quiet. And since modes 1-3 are paused 75% of the time, hard to 'catch it in action'.
The 'watch holder' things have sleeves that you can take off to make it smaller if your watch bands are set smaller.

The oroduct was delivered expeditiously and the product works as advertised. Would recommend the product.
