Great learning tool for home or donation to a classroom

My kids have never owned a globe and they are absolutely fascinated at making the connections of countries they know, their point on the globe, and the distance from America. We're able to talk about things on the news and find them on the globe, we can talk about family members who are far away and find them too. It has brought another dimension to our learning for sure.
I honestly don't remember learning about the constellations when I was growing up, so I'm learning along with my kids. You'll need near complete darkness to see the constellations when they light up, but it's another great thing for our kids to know and connect their points in the universe.
The globe is sturdy, works well, and the stainless steel doesn't show fingerprints or smudges like I imagined it would.
My plan is to buy another one of these for my child's classroom. With budget cuts these days, teachers don't have access to as many learning tools like these.

This is a wonderful globe! Some of the reviews made me afraid it was going to be cheap or something, but it's not! It's bright and colorful, the smaller size is perfect for fitting on a desk or dresser easier, the plug and switch work fine, and the constellations night light feature is just so super cool. At first, when I flipped the switch I thought the light wasn't working, but then turned off the overhead room light and bam! I realized that the light in the globe lights up the constellations, not the regular globe view. It feels sturdy and solid and it doesn't feel or look cheap. Great product!

I bought this globe for my granddaughter who is home-schooled. The globe itself is really nice. It's well-made and it has very Vivid colors. The countries are very well outlined. We turned the lights off so that we could light it up and see the constellations. The globe itself is beautiful both when looking at the the different countries and is just as nice with the lights off and the night-light on looking at the constellations. We were only looking for a globe with the countries on it, but the constellations are an added bonus and I'm really glad we chose this one. The base itself is sturdy and the globe spins. Overall I'm really pleased that we selected this globe and believe that it will be a great addition to my granddaughter's school room and be functional.

This is a nice little globe with a good, quality feel to it. It has really good-looking colors and sharp, easy-to-read text. I like the night-light feature and use this in my children's room - it's not too bright and has a nice effect with the constellations. I like that it includes ocean depth...I hadn't seen that on a globe before and it is very interesting.
Some things that would improve this globe: A larger size would be nice...the globe diameter is only 8"...I'm guessing I used to have a 12" globe growing up, and that's kinda what I had in mind when buying this (though it's clear in the posting that it's 8"). I'd like to be able to feel the topography...raised mountains and such would be cool! Better spinning would be nice...I used to spin our globe, close my eyes and wherever the globe stopped was where I was supposed to travel to...or something like that! This globe will not spin a full resolution by itself and feels a bit stiff.
I do think this is a good globe for the price!

There are lots of light-up-globes, and when I was looking for one last year, I couldn't figure out which one to get, so I went with the best seller at the time. That was February 2017, and that globe is still the best seller.
But I really didn't love it - it definitely looked and felt like a plastic toy. I'm so much happier with this globe - with has the feel and finish of the sort of globe I had in my classroom in elementary school.
The constellation feature at night is great. And beautiful. But more important to me is that this actually looks and feels like a nice globe, and so many of the others feel like toys.
See my picture for the side-by-side of this globe vs the one I bought last year. They are in different leagues quality-wise, and I feel that this globe is worth the higher price.
