Beautiful set!

My husband purchased these for me for Christmas because I have been wanting a good knife set. First time seeing them, loved them! The block is beautiful. The knifes come very very sharp! Scissors cut ANYTHING.
Sharp set of new knives
Ming C. Shih✓ Verified Purchase•January 3, 2018
Sharp an nice looking set of knives. This knife set replaced our old set of Wustof Grand Prixe that we had for 17+ years.
It was definitely time to replace the old set (even with regular sharpening service - Wet stone grind + polish) New knives are razor sharp, easy to cook with, wash, and store easily. (I still keep the old knives around when we're chopping garlic, onion, etc)
No comment or opinion on the wear and tear, discoloration, or rusting of the knives. Ask me again in 3+ years. We tend to wash and dry as soon as we finish using the knives so I don't expect any issues.

More Than a Gimmick, Cangshan S1 Is A Good Quality Bargain

The Cangshan S1 is worth more than its billing due to high quality steel and confident, quick cutting.
I was initially very hesitant to make the purchase, but the price dipped to a point where I was willing to take the risk. This apprehension toward buying a knife in the $30 to $40 from an unknown knife maker is, to me, understandable. There is a lot of things that can't be identified from simply looking at a picture on a screen. The way it forms to the hand, the ease of cutting, and cutting style of the holder can be as important as the components of the knife.
This knife is great. It comes out of the box razor sharp. It produced an elegant push cut and it respectably held the edge. I think for it's price you should definitely consider this as competition for a Mercer Renaissance or Victorinox knife. The advantage with this knife is that it has some bells and whistles along with being a forged knife. The steel is the same as the Renaissance, but the handle is really comfortable, although some may consider it a little bulky. I have fairly small hands, but I still found it comfortable for my grip.
One of the gimmicks I came to enjoy was the angled bolster. It was more comfortable than other bolsters but only slightly so. According to the Cangshan website, the bolster is meant to align and accommodate a firm and natural pinch grip. I've never had a problem prior to this, so I didn't notice a large difference
As far as performance goes, I think this knife works far better than the money I spent for it. It has a 16 degree edge, 58 rockwell hardness, and some nice packaging to go along with it.
If you are worried about performance, don't be. This knife is well made, and, in this price range, a really competitive deal.

Best knives I've every purchased!

These knives are awesome! Be very careful, they are SHARP! I recently moved and decided I needed a little upgrade to my kitchen knife set since I cook regularly. My old knives that I bought from Costco were okay for a little while but dulled very quickly. I wanted something of higher quality and was willing to spend a little more money than I have in the past for a higher quality knife but didn't want to pay $300+. These knives were exactly what I was hoping for. They look sharp in my kitchen, they feel great in my hand, and they sliced through the tomatoes and peppers like butter. I can't wait to cook dinner tonight and chop a ton of veggies! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND these knives to anyone wanting a high quality knife without breaking the bank. Trust me, spend a little extra money on this set compared to whatever you're looking at now and you WILL NOT be disappointed!
poor quality

After a few months of use blades are gouged up, really deep. Doubt they can be sharpened enough to remove. These are used by 2 adults and hand washed. Poor quality!
