I haven't used a shaving brush for years but decided it was time as I decided to transition from using an electric shaver to a standard razor for shaving. I wanted one that came with a stand as I know this helps a brush to dry properly between shaves. This brush works fine. A few hairs have fallen out but it has been just a few. It works well and I am happy with the shave cream I use and how this brush helps apply this to my face in a very even and well distributed way. I recommend this brush as it has worked well for me.

Started shaving the old way with soap and a brush. My previous brush was too long, too soft and did not fit well into the stand (not a matched set). I used this for the first time today. I have been shaving with the shaving soap and brush method since the mid 70's. I actually had my first shave brush I owed and decided to toss it. This brush is a tad stiff, but it does not slop around a lot when you are preparing it and it goes on well with not a lot of overuse. You might do better with a bowl that is not too tall as the handle is on the short side. I have an Old Spice shaving mug that is the perfect height. The brush fits the stand perfectly and does not take up a lot of room on our bathroom sink. Shaving with a bush and shaving soap might take a tad longer, but your face with thank you for it. Nice clean, refreshing shave.

I got this for my husband a long time ago. He used it for years, and it's soft, durable and long-lasting. It also creates a great lather. Excellent quality shaving brush! (I just ordered a new one, exactly the same, since he misplaced the first one.)

I am 73 years old, I have sensitive skin and a course beard. I have used everything possible to shave with on the market.

I previously have my grandfather's Gillette Sterling 100 T badger shaving two toned brush in black and cream handle fitted with a 21 mm finest two band badger knot. This is the roughest of the two above and the smallest.

When the Rocky Mountain arrived, which was huge, I was in love, and I thought for sure this will be the one I keep so obviously 5*****. Then the 100% Silvertip Badger Hair by Jet arrived the softest, for sure this will be the one I keep so obviously 5*****.

I shaved several times they both continue to be excellent. So I brought in my wife's legs and had her try all 3 brushes. She disliked the old Sterling being so course. Then she loved the Rocky Mountain because it was huge and softer. Finally she tried the Silvertip Badger and loved it. Then she tried it on the back of her legs and she loved the large Rocky Mountain!

So I had made up my mind because I already had something course and small. She finally admitted that the Rocky Mountain was 5***** but so was the Silvertip. She agreed and we returned the Huge Rocky Mountain non-silvertip - but I might get it again depending upon yearnings.

If you need a brush and this is your first brush get the huge Rocky Mountain you don't need the silvertip.

If you have a big face get Rocky Mountain.

If you have $20 more get these 2 great 5***** brushes based on all the other reviews.

You can't make a mistake either brush but for $20 more get them both. I would have kept both of them, but I already have my grandfathers and I'm 73 how many do I really need?

If you want a Silvertip get the Jet it works great.

If you use shaving gel, you must have this. I put a small amount of shaving gel in a small bowl, hot water to prep the brush and you are ready to go, The gel foams up nicely and the brush spreads the warm lather perfectly. Well made, soft and so worth the money. You can use a Stick-up to mount the holder.
