Great choice for Beginners!

I find this Xiao to be more than I expected in quality and craftsmanship for the price. It has elegant style and is very esthetically pleasing. I find the tones in the lower octave to be mellow while the higher octave is more allegro. Compared to the DiZi which is a horizontal blown flute, I find the end blown or vertical Xiao to be the easiest to play. As someone not having owned or played a Xiao before, I find this to be a perfect starter instrument. The only down side I find is the amount of effort envolved with connecting the seperable sections. However, I expect this to become easier over time with use.
Really surprised at how nice it is

I own and play many flutes, I was concerned since it was such a low price, but it's a great flute for its price. Obviously it will not have the quality of a $200 flute, but it will place nice and can help u learn finger placement. Highly recommend for beginners who want to learn flutes or just to have as a beautiful set piece for decoration. 10/10 for price.
Beyond my expectation!

I don't want to misguide anybody buying product without seeing it and/or relying on someone's experience. And I don't want to be that one either.
However, I've been practicing this xiao for less than a month now, and I feel like I'm holding a several hundred dollar product in my hand whenever I hear the sound this product produces. I paid a light, very light figure, a $20 for it.
You won't regret for any and if you also buy a book called 'How to play Dizi, the Chinese Bamboo Flute' beforehand.
The Book itself is not light pricewise, but it's worth it if you're a beginner and want to play it quick. I bought both.

I don't do winds so it is a big challenge to play a flute that you have to have the perfect embouchure to get it to sound right so this is going to take a while. But I did play a few notes on the first try. Will keep going. Sounds in tune and the sound is great. Amazing for the price. BTW, came with a nice long red Chinese knoted tassel to add to the ambiance. P.S. I found the edge pressing below my lower lip very sharp so had to immediately sand it down which only took a minute or two to make it o.k..
Sufficient but limited

I like this. It does a pretty good job however
I have a hard time producing a tone on the lowest register. I've tried different angles and apertures. It may be that it can be corrected by modifying the mouthpiece but i haven't experimented with it yet
