Does not fit .45 M&P Shield. DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE ONE!
PaBondMay 31, 2018
I bought this item for my .45 M&P Shield (as it states on the page that it fits). After hours of trying to get the grip on the gun, it started to tear. I read some other reviews saying that you could warm up the grip in water and use oil to ease it in but after trying so many different methods, the product just gave in and tore.

If the product description states that it fits a certain gun, then it should not be this difficult to install it. Otherwise, please take out the .45 Shield from the product page as other also had this difficulty to install it. Now I'm out 8 bucks and out of a grip and have to spend more money buying another one to see if it fits.

Awaiting sellers response...
Yes, it does fit the M&P Shield 45...but it's tough.

I agree with the other reviews on here. Getting this on my Shield 45 was a pain in the a$$, but it DOES FIT. I soaked it a bowl of warm water, used gun oil on the inside to lubricate it and used a flat head screwdriver with masking tape wrapped around the tip to protect the gun from scratching. Using those tools, it's basically a lot of grunting and cursing as you ease it on a little at a time. The whole process was about 20 minutes start to finish. Looks great and feels natural in my hand. If you're thinking about it, do it!

I bought one for my Shield 9mm and good thing too because it is too small for the 45. Barely fit on the 9 and I was surprised it didn't improve much. Not getting one for my full size M&P now.
BUY IT IMMEDIATELY!!!

After purchasing this grip for my Smith and Wesson M&P 45 Shield, the gun is incredibly comfortable to carry. My gun keeps its single stack concealability while having a in between feel of a compact double stack handgun. If the grip for your particular handgun is available, and are curious in improving your hold, BUY IT IMMEDIATELY. The rubber is soft and the finger groove is textured nicely. It adds great ergonomics to any design without comprosing the platform. As a fair warning though, putting on the grip is an UNBELIEVABLE B1TCH as the company more politely states. Work with it, stretch it slightly, use windex, and or a hair dryer to allow for easier installation. Be careful to not overstretch it. Overall, outstanding grip for $10. Great job Hogue.
Good product but can be a bit difficult to install ...

Good product but can be a bit difficult to install and the manufacturer's instruction are not very helpful (in my opinion). Here are a few tips that may help with your installation: 1. warm up the rubber with a hair dryer; 2. spray a little WD 40 on the inside of the of the beavertail grip sleeve and on your gun grip; 3. hook the beavertail edge of the grip sleeve over your gun grip first; 4. while holding the beavertail side of the sleeve in place with one hand (so it doesn't slip off) carefully use a wide slot screwdriver to slowly stretch the sleeve over the front edge of your gun grip being careful not to scratch your gun ( don't over-stretch the rubber sleeve or it may tear); 5. once you have the sleeve started onto the front and rear of your grip, push it the rest of the way onto your gun grip using both hands (the WD 40 lubrication should help with this). Hope these suggestions help with your install.
