I bought this backpack to serve as my pack for an upcoming Europe and Thailand trip and feel like I've been duped by the overwhelming 5 star reviews
Daniel LamFebruary 21, 2018
It's hard to trust reviews these days with so many influencers and reviewers who are either paid or receive free goods in exchange for "honest" reviews. Let me just say that I am neither of those. I bought this backpack to serve as my pack for an upcoming Europe and Thailand trip and feel like I've been duped by the overwhelming 5 star reviews. This isn't a bad product for the price.

The backpack is a solid 3 star. It is a good size, cool design, cool colors, and seems durable enough for a $35 backpack. Where it loses stars is in its quality and comfort. Don't buy this backpack if you think you are getting a backpack like the ones they sell at REI... The straps are very thin and in my opinion, are awkwardly set. As a test, I loaded the pack up with about 10-15 lbs of weight to wear around the house. After a few minutes, the straps began to dig into my shoulders. I couldn't get the shoulder strap and hip strap to fit comfortably - if the hip straps were comfortable, the shoulder straps were not, and vice versa. I think the shoulder straps need to be longer. The zipper system is very annoying. The manufacturer designed it so these flaps hang over the zippers to prevent water from seeping in through the zippers. This causes the zippers to catch every time you open and close unless you take your time to fold the flaps out of the way. Trust me, you WILL start getting annoyed by this.

TL,DR: Good backpack for someone (probably a smaller framed person) looking for an inexpensive backpack with low expectations. It fits quite a bit of stuff. Don't expect to take this on any serious (or even moderate) hike. If you're loading it up, don't expect to comfortably wear it around for long periods of time. I'm 5'9", medium build - straps are awkward and thin. Backpack does not sit right. Zippers catch. Returned to Amazon.
Everyday use!
PapyrusOctober 31, 2017
As someone that uses the pack for everyday use, this is a great pack! I could trust it on a hike, as the pack came perfect with no defeats. It's sturdy, stable, and has top and bottom access. There are two pockets in the front (the zipper pocket in the front where to logo is - that's to a Velcro flap pocket). and two mesh pockets on both sides. And, there's also an inner pocket in the main compartment. It has a big mouth to be able to open the pack a little bit past half way, from the top access.

It has s-straps, which is comfortable for most body type, and it's size fits me perfectly at 5'5"! The hip and shoulder straps are thick padded, so they're very comfortable! The straps over to bottom access are long enough to hold my compressed sleeping bag, which is as big as a gallon jug. The compression straps of the sides are a great way to keep the pack comfortably in place with different sized loads. It doesn't have load-lifters, so I wouldn't suggest packing it heavy. This is best for light to almost-heavy loads. The more you know about to the use all the adjustable straps, the better you'll be with any pack. It also has a very conventionally placed, attached rain cover. I will call this a simple pack, for it has a few pockets and all the basic straps. Something my complex would mean more pockets and more straps. I usually don't like the a lack of pockets, but easier to keep up with where stuff is. Also - I'm under no obligation to be the same person I was yesterday, nor are you. :)
Not perfect, but awesome value

There's a lot to like about this backpack. I hiked 7 miles with 25lbs and ample space left over. It'll work for weekend trips. It has all the pockets and straps I want plus it looks pretty cool. Solid YKK zippers, they were small and stick a little but it's fine. I was skeptical about the buckles, they felt cheap but they held. The bottom access pocket is perfect for reaching my photography equipment. The shoulder and back pads are pretty comfy. The laptop sleeve can hold a 3L hydration pouch sufficiently, though I had to leave a crack in the zipper for the hose. I might cut a hole somewhere so the hose doesn't interfere. I tried putting my tripod in the top pole straps but it shifted a lot while walking. The biggest Con was that the pack didn't sit on my hips very well. I'm 5'8" and the shoulder straps all the way tightened still didn't sit high enough. My back suffered a little. Not a deal breaker considering the price. There's also a rain cover they don't mention underneath!
I use it for commute and I love it!

5 stars because it is a very nice backpack. So far, I have used it several times a week stuffed with school materials (binder and a couple folders) in the slim pocket inside the main bag, clothing and small food containers (shoes, pants, several shirts and a sweater) in front of the slim pocket inside the backpack, and writing materials in the top outside pouch ( several pens, markers, and notepads). On top of that, I carry a 40oz water bottle inside the backpack because the netted pouches on the sides are not big enough to fit it but, any standard size bottle or can will easily fit on either side. I usually fill them with my wallet and phone or fruits. I also clip on my bike lock on the straps on the top outside pouch so overall, it gets pretty heavy but, it feels well fitted on my back and chest. The straps that allow me to wrap it around my chest and belly really help maintain the backpack in place when I commute. I picked up this backpack because I commute riding my bicycle. I have had this backpack for about a month now, and I really do love it. I wish it had a bit more tiny pockets so I could have my pens and markers organized instead of just all bundled together in a big pouch but, this backpack is not made for that purpose. I understand that hence, 5 stars. So far, seems really sturdy and well made. It also came with a different message on the patch. I read reviews about how some backpacks came with a nonsense message on them. This one didn't! Hope this review helps!
Great product / what to expect when receiving your bag

Very well made, especially for the price. Color is exactly as shown in the discription (color of this pack is Rose). Has 2 upper compartments. A hidden sleeve under the middle compartment. Also, there is a compartment on the bottom of the bag which is where you'll find the rain cover for the backpack (found this 3 days after I reicieved the bag). The lower zipper compartment is actually a gateway to the bottom of the inside of the bag, and is not a separate pouch. The straps are very close together around the neck so would not recommend for a person(s) with large necks or larger body build. Very good padding on the back and on the straps around the waiste. The top chest strap fits a bit tight even when lossened. However, this is good for hiking to help keep the backpack intact and from sliding around when doing more advanced hiking. Had this backpack in the rain and it held true for being waterproof. VERY pleased overall!!
