Just enough strength to do a good job on its own for iPhone 8 Plus in a life-proof type case.

For the price I am sure it is great. It is, however just enough on its own, in the articulation/strength department, to hold my iPhone 8 Plus, in a life-proof type case/housing. My main application is to clamp this rig to a microphone stand or table, so I can follow the music as I sing and play guitar.
It would be easy enough for me to use a little piece of Gaffers tape here and there to make it all perfect. I am largely happy. Sometimes I think everything in my life is "custom rigged to my ideal" with the proverbial "gaffers tape"... So you may be perfectly happy with this rig, sans tape...
I'd probably grab up another of these...if I ever lost this one...;)

The phone holder is good, not great. Don't clip it onto a wooden surface, it will scratch it up. I only had it a month and the little plastic piece (nut?) that you screw on to keep it in place broke. I messaged the company and they sent me a whole new phone holder. That's why I'm giving 4 stars. The customer service was great!! But the new/second holder bends at the bottom and won't hold up my phone, so I'm basically just using it for the parts....
I would't buy again.

this product is so cheap. it can't even hold my iPhone!!!! it goes down or sideways. A piece was also broken when it arrived but I'm thinking it should nave still been able to hold my phone.
It fits my phone with a case fine since it hold the phone by pinch clipping

Exceeded my expectations--managed to hold up my phone without too much slippage at home. I tried it on a hospital bed and getting the clamp to stay put was a different experience/issue--meaning it wouldn't stay put, so I will have to investigate adding a piece of rubber/grip to keep it from falling/slipping. It fits my phone with a case fine since it hold the phone by pinch clipping. I do wish the plastic parts were made from a stronger material like steel. Overall, I love the strength of the gooseneck--I prefer it to be stronger. Maybe if the clamp that goes onto the furniture was a little wider or more grippy, it would get another star from me. Overall, I managed to watch at home ok wo it falling and for a hospital bed without it falling on the patient. I actually bought two--one for home and one for the hospital bed.

This is a very similar model to a lot of different cell phone holders but I find the metal arm is a lot sturdier and is able to hold my iPhone 7 quite nicely.
I had an issue with the mounting nut breaking and I contacted ZTON. They sent me a replacement without much issue. Fast response and fast shipping on a whole new cell phone holder.
