Greatradar unit

Purchased this 2 years ago. I would trust this product. Have navigated in a moonless night in the pitch dark accompanied with a chart plotter.
Fantastic

It came a day early and works great. Ya'll can purchase with confidence. Does not come with any mounting bracket.
Convenient, economical, easy to install, easy to operate, but too automatic for serious users

First of all, this radar is a great idea and an easy/quick/convenient/economical way to get radar onto your boat. I couldn't be happier with the unit overall. My only complaint is that the receiver gain is fully automatic and can't be adjusted by the operator. This can be a significant issue when you want to increase the signature of a distant object, or to make distant objects appear at all. There are going to be times when we want to see something far off and don't care if there's ground clutter in the center of the screen, or when we need more sensitivity to improve the resolution of nearby objects, and that's not possible with this radar. If Furuno would add the option to allow the user to control all aspects of operation manually if they want or need to, then this unit would be far more useful for serious radar users.
Great value for an entry RADAR

I'm an experienced sailor with over 50 years on the water. This is my third RADAR unit. It is a low cost but functional instrument. I like the wireless connection to handheld devices. It's small, lightweight and easy to install. Overlay on TZ iBoat makes navigation simple. It would get five stars except for a few nits. The gain and sea-clutter adjustments are fixed. With these settings, I can't see lobster pot floats on the display. There is no variable range nor line of bearing. This is useful for collision avoidance. Long range scales don't paint targets well. I rarely use ranges over four miles for navigation, but it's useful to see weather coming at longer ranges. It's limited to only two wireless connections, one of which may be taken by an instrument sender, leaving but one for the display. This can be overcome by using static IP addresses rather than assigned (Manual vs Automatic in the IPAD network settings). The IPAD has viewing limitations in full sunlight. Displaying the RADAR image directly on a Timezero chartplot app while folding in AIS target data with an optional Vespar XB-8000 and merging NMEA sensor data like depth, wind, and heading make this a solution that's hard to beat.
EASY TO USE!

Love the WIFI. I can use my iPad with this since I already have a mount for it in my boat. Great product and well built.
