Educational came broken assembly a video told me had the same problem?
Repaired by adding shims and Longer screws to attach the gears in place.

My 4 year old grandson loves it and has all of the controls mastered.
Good for indoor or keeping it on a shelve. Forget about digging sand on a beach - not powerful enough.

I bought all 3 toys (excavator, front loader and dumpster truck) to play with kids at the beach but we were disappointed - the excavator couldn't dig into the beach sand - it wasn't powerful enough to do so. Plastic gears were skipping. Otherwise it's a good looking toy - too bad we couldn't use the excavator as an excavator! What's the point of it then?
The front loader doesn't have a separate control for the shovel and that appears to interfere with its functionality. So every time we were trying to load the dumpster truck - the one we also bought from you guys, it couldn't lift the shovel high enough. Once you lift the shovel to the level of the truck, it already unloads the load. Then what was the point of this front loader if I cannot load the dumpster truck with it and especially your dumpster truck?! You see what I mean? Then it should have at least a separate control for the shovel to dump the load once you lift the front loader high enough.
The dumpster truck - similar story - the dumpster doesn't go high enough to unload the sand, it had a short up/down amplitude which is not enough to unload it - we have to remove the load by hand. Again, no use for it at all if I have to use my hands to do what those toys were supposed to do.
On top of those issues, there was one more issue - the battery - NiCad - that's such an old battery type which makes play time shorter and shorter with each charge! The play time with it was so short even the toy was brand new - it's unbelievable. I was expecting at least to have lithium ion battery which has no memory and much longer play time for at least 20-30 min.
They are good looking toys just to put them on a shelve but not functional at all - not really for playing with them as they were intended to be.
You guys need to improve:
1. Swap the battery for lithium ion
2. Excavator - make digging and scooping possible at least with sand on a beach like all those professional RC toys do - see youtube on those. For that you will need more powerful motors and metal gears - plastic gears simply do skip.
3. Front loader - add a separate control for the shovel so it doesn't unload when you lift it up to the max level. Then test it with sand on a beach - if it can handle the beach sand - then it's good. If not, make it more powerful.
4. Dumpster truck - increase the up/down amplitude to make sand beach fall out from the dumpster at least without the need to use your hands.
5. The front loader and dumpster truck are on wheels hence they should turn like regular cars - not like an excavator on tracks.
Once you improve them, shoot me an email and I'll buy the improved version.

P.S. If you are looking to buy these for your child or grandchild to play indoors, at home in their play room or to put them on a shelve - then these are wonderful nice looking toys. No hesitation - buy these - the price is good - your kids will be happy.
