I really like this particular rain chain. I had bought a different one but it didn't work out for really torrential rainfall, the rain splattered all over the place. I ended up finding out that the size and shapes of the cups makes the difference in the rain running down the chain. I ended up choosing this one and it works much better than the other chain I had purchased. Eventually I'm going to add the other rain chain to the gutter, but for now this one is taking care of the rainfall that we've been getting here on the East coast this year. I've had a chance to watch the rain fall through this chain during many kinds of rainfall... drizzles through torrential, and it's been holding up rather well. I'm definitely happier with this rain chain.

My 99 year old house does not have gutters but does have a place where the water gushes off the roof in the back corner. Purchased this rain chain to relieve the deluge of water that hits the flower bed below and it works great by protecting the mulch and flowers below .. all while looking lovely doing it.
I purchased plant hooks similar to Shepard's hooks and mounted that to the area under the roof since I do not have gutters and this works great
