It was time to get another underwater camera, so I started shopping around.
The thing that drew me to this product is it's versatility. With this phone housing, my camera improves, every time I upgrade my phone. I also loved that the housing displays your dive info, so you don't have to take your eyes off the subject or camera.
At first I was a bit concerned with the chance of flooding the housing and ruining a phone and the housing. I did a few test dives with an old iPhone6. The housing worked absolutely perfectly.
Max depth on our week of diving in Cozumel was 122ft. No issues or scares with this case and flooding.
For the trip I used an iPhone X. The pictures and video (day and night without strobe) turned out amazing. The color correction with the software was really good. It adjusts pictures and video equally as well.
Love this housing so much, I'm purchasing another one, along with the stobes for the wife.

This is a great product. I use it on pretty much every dive. I can bring my IPhone, record primarily short videos for social media which makes it incredible easy to upload.

The screen stays on the entire time and as far as I can tell, there's no option to blacken the screen to conserve battery. It's best to install the phone in the Kraken in an air conditioned space to minimize moisture inside the case as you dive; the instructions also say to install the phone, pump out the air, and wait a while to make sure the vacuum holds. When you do that, the travel time before you enter the water could be a long-while and the phone battery might get really low or die on you, so run some tests with your phone in the comfort of your home before you take it anywhere and need it to work.
If I load my phone in the case while out at sea or before shore diving, I've been able to work around this issue by putting desiccant paper in the case before sealing it up.
There were a few instances that my phone linked with the case via Bluetooth but the case buttons didn't work. This also happened sometimes if I turned off the screen. I had to turn off the case and re-sync; this was mildly annoying but manageable.

This housing is solid, I feel really comfortable taking my phone down in the enclosure, but I really wish I didn't need a separate tool to create the vacuum. I'm using this in Bonaire, and it's not safe to leave anything in your vehicle when you go diving, which means I have to put my phone in the case and leave it there until I'm done diving or risk leaving the vacuum tool in the truck. It's a great product, I trust it, but I would love to have the ability to create the vacuum as a built-in part of the case, or a tool that was easier to take on the dive.
