So far I have 3/8 microchipped installed. and had to discard of 3 before starting. These needles are so dull that I was a second away from just giving up and not having them microchipped. I started on my big dog and that was not working out. So I went to my puppy and I guess their skin is more softer so it went in easier and that's not saying much. Long story short. These do work and the needle CAN go in. You just cannot be scared to put a little bit of force behind that push to the skin. Both mama and pup let out a little cry and after that they were fine.
