The best I could find

I ordered the "new version" after reading the reviews. I like the size, most of my hooks fit, though it's a bit tight. The price is just right. In the past I have used a pencil case, a pencil case made to be a crochet hook case (AC Moore brand) and a custom crochet hook case and I haven't been super pleased with any of them I have multiple hooks of different sizes so I'm keeping the extras in the pocket in the second compartment. The second compartment has seven spots that are currently unusable for me because I don't have hooks that small. If I did get a steel set (smallest hooks available, for working with thread/wire), I would still order the clover amour set, so I'm not sure that those would fit. I do have to reiterate that everything fits, but barely. I added pictures that show the inside and outside, you can see when everything zipped up how the bottom bows in which I assume is because there is so much inside. I've tried removing some hooks/accessories and it doesn't make a difference. The zipper catches a bit on the top right corner, so I'm trying to be gentle. Because this case has the most positive reviews and I generally like it, I do think I'll order a second one for my extra hooks and leave one set in the car and one set in my WIP bag.
The perfect choice to make your hooker happy!

If you're a yarn art addict like myself, you NEED this case! I've tried many, MANY different bags and cases to store & transport my crochet hooks and various extras. They are piled up in a closet collecting dust because no one case addressed all my needs, allowing me to carry only one bag. But then I found this case! Plenty of storage for my best hooks and three pockets of varying size to store my needles, measuring tape, scissors, stitch markers, etc. If you're looking for a great case to hold your supplies - look no further - you won't be disappointed. Very well made and functional. I'm a happy hooker!
Disappointed...

I was so excited to have something to organize my crochet hooks in. The minute I got it I grabbed all my hooks and accessories and started putting them in case. If you know about the sizes of crochet hooks, you know they are not the same size, or large and small, the differ in size from an A size hook with is smaller up to a Q size hook which is large. The elastic slots are close to being all the same size on one side and two different sizes on the other side. The fit is sloppy for most of the hooks with the exception of the smallest ones and 2 larger ones. when I open the left side or first compartment the hooks fall out. I will have to come up with a solution maybe hand sew in a piece at the bottom that keeps the hooks from falling out, like the one they put on the other side. (as you can see in the pictures.) Not sure why they didn't put that piece on both sides. Anyway, I am quite disappointed. It's a great idea, just needed more thought about the sizing of the slots.
great quality

I have been looking for an organizer for my crochet hooks for a while (most of the ones on amazon have cheap hooks included that I didn't want or need) I finally broke down and bought this one. I am pleasantly surprised by it. It is much higher quality that I expected. There are no loose threads, its made of a good quality canvas. None of that plastic-y fabric material. The zippers are very high quality. One side is designed for the larger ergonomic hooks as the elastic loops are bigger the other side fits the regular aluminum and steel hooks.
Awesome Crochet Hook Organizer

This is a great organizer case for crochet hooks! It's a bit shorter than I was expecting, so some of my crochet hooks just barely fit, but I'm still able to zip it closed, so it works as advertised. For some time, I've wanted a proper case for my crochet hooks . . . but it had to be purple. I was thrilled when I found this one!
There are two zippered compartments. The first one (at the front of the case) has elastic loops to hold ten crochet hooks. Since the elastic stretches, you can fit any size, although the tiny steel hooks may fall out. I've got the ergonomic type (Amour by Clover), so the smallest I have (#2 or 2.5mm) fits just fine. The largest I've got is M/N or 9mm, which stretches the elastic quite a bit, but still fits. On the other side of the first compartment, there's two mesh zip pockets. I use them to hold my thread snips, measuring tape, stitch markers, and blunt yarn needles, although I do worry that the needles might work their way through the mesh and fall out. So far, they haven't, but it could happen.
The second compartment (at the back of the case) has elastic loops for twelve crochet hooks. Unlike the first compartment, these elastics progress in size, for different sized hooks. I've got the smaller ones holding my non-ergonomic crochet hooks, but as the elastic loops are a bit too wide, I've had to double up my crochet hooks, so they won't fall out. On the other side of the second compartment, there's a single mesh pocket with an elastic top. It's oriented sideways, though, so I imagine whatever you put in the pocket will slip to the bottom of the case.
Overall, the case seems to be high quality. The zippers are plastic, but they zip smoothly and they appear to be quite strong. The outer fabric is sturdy, and a lovely light purple color. The zippers are black, while the inside of the case is light gray, including the zippers on the interior pouches. Aside from the sideways pocket, the only thing I don't care for is the company's name emblazoned on the front in the form of a thick rubber tag that's permanently attached. I would have preferred the logo to be less obtrusive.
I'll give this product four stars. Recommended to anyone who crochets! Would make a nice gift, too.
