Simple Travel-size Flotation

My husband and I ordered 2 snorkel vests to take with us to Hawaii. We originally had some foam pfds in our luggage but they took up so much room so we looked for a small inflatable option. This fit the bill perfectly. The locals will definitely know you're from out of town because they were all snorkeling with pool noodles but I liked that our vests could be inflated to remain at the surface or deflated to get a closer look at the reef bottom. Because of these snorkel vests, we were able to pack fins, a snorkel, a mask, scuba boots, and a weeks worth of clothes in each of our carry-ons. I felt like Marry Poppins.

I was taken on my first snorkeling adventure at 60 years old. I was told I would float in salt water. Didn't want to chance it so I bought this vest. Once all of the straps were adjusted AFTER they were wet, it felt secure. The crotch strap was uncomfortable at first, but I got used to it. Inflating and deflating were very easy. I inflated too much for the current, therefore too buoyant and was being carried away. I was able to deflate in seconds and float where I wanted to stay. The only thing that bothered me was how it would eventually ride up around my neck, making the wedgie much worse. Tightening the waist straps didn't help. The second excursion was a paid tour and they provided regular life jackets. I actually found the life jacket stayed on my body where it was suppose to stay. One cannot adjust the inflation of a life jacket, however, so you must be a strong swimmer in currents. After my snorkeling vest dried out, I was able to fold it, put it back in its pouch, and place it in my suitcase. It held up well to 7 days of intense - by my standards - of snorkeling.

Very easy to pack in luggage, very easy to inflate, does the job! The only thing for me was that the vest seemed to ride up my neck and became uncomfortable. I tightened the straps to where I could tolerate, but the vest still rode up on my neck. Other than that, I will use again since it was very easy to transport, easy to inflate, and it full-fills the purpose to keep you afloat

This vest is nice, but it will not fit as pictured for larger chested women (38K for reference). However, it'll do the job and keep you afloat. I went off of the pictures advertised, but this is basically just sits right in front of your neck and face. I got this to snorkel in Cozumel. I could not look into the water with the snorkel mask and this vest. Like I said, it will keep you afloat, but it didn't work for my particular application and body type. I had it buckled properly and everything. It does fold away flat, and it packed nicely into my suitcase. I rolled it up right like a joint (jk) and it fit well into my luggage barely taking up any room. Worked well for my husband who does not have boobs.
