Just two nitpicks to an otherwise great accessory

Overall, really just works, with just a nitpick or two:
-I trimmed down the two pillars by about a mm, as they seemed to be a tad too long for the slot
-The release latch is a bit small and may be annoying if you have stubby fingers and/or short fingernails
That's all i got, it's all good from there, and i'm happy to not have to use the original gimbal guard anymore which has been quite an annoyance.
One tip: install while the mavic is on its back, and point the camera slightly down(towards the top of the mavic)

Did this product meet my expectations? Absolutely! DJI has to be somewhat embarrassed that they didn't come up with this design to begin with. Sure, you can't fly with this cover in place because the gimbal will remain clamped, but few of us will ever fly with that cover on anyway. This design is more simple to put on and take off than the DJI clamp and provides complete protection for the camera and gimbal system while the drone is in storage. This really is a must have accessory for any Mavic Pro owner.

Love the idea of securing the gimbal in place while protecting it along with the lens. As someone who's had to send a Mavic in for repair for gimbal issues presumably because I wasn't using the clamp while traveling, I can appreciate this. It's not quite a 100% fit but pretty close. There are small gaps where the cover doesn't connect with the drone meaning dirt or sand could get in. I use the DJI sleeve so not overly worried about this. The rubber protector that you can put on the outside of the cover doesn't quite stay in place. The factory cover has a slit where the rubber protector has a notch and it helps keep it in place. This cover from Amazon doesn't have that slit and the shape of the cover is slightly different. Would have even nice to include a matching rubber protector or have the factory one work. That being said, the new cover is definitely more sturdy than the factory one. In fact, I was putting some pressure on it and noticed the factory one would bend a lot more. Well, I guess I applied just enough pressure to the wrong place that I cracked my factory cover 😠Good thing I have a replacement!
