Unbranded backdoor MSD? Possibly.

This distributor looks and feels great! It seems to be an MSD even down to a couple of identical part/serial numbers stamped into it. The cap and coil both have MSD part numbers on them. So could it be a backdoor MSD unit that is unbranded from the same factory? In my opinion possibly I've seen it before with other major brands. So it's an awesome buy at this price jump on it!

Put this on my 71 C20 with a stock 2bbl 307. For anyone looking to swap to HEI just remove your old distributor, get the engine on TDC, align the distributor rotor so it is aiming at cylinder #1 on rotor spark as well as lining up your oil pump arm. (Distributor should sit completely flat against the intake manifold, if not that means you missed the oil pump arm.) Simply wire your distributor in correct firing order clockwise to your plugs. This distributor only requires one hot wire with no resistors. Use a voltmeter to assure you are getting 12 volts with the key in the on position. Put this distributor along with new 8mm wires and NGK V-power copper plugs. Engine is running like new. Unbelievable.
