INCREDIBLE VALUE!

So let me start by saying that I am not a frequent camper, but I am a seasoned hiker.
I took this bag to the Big Island of Hawaii for two weeks. And our method of travel was quite strenuous. Daily hikes, bus rides, LONG walks from place to place, instances where I've had to sleep on it, and not but least our 2 day 20+ mile trek.
What I have fit inside:
1) 5 each of shirts, shorts, socks, under garments.
2) Waterproof mini crate for valuables.
3) 2 iphones, ear phones, chargers.
4) 3 days worth of canned food.
5) Vitamins
6) Go pro with accessories
7) notepad
8) Camping light, flash light, headlamp
9) Camera tripod
10) 40oz hydro flash
11) DJI Osmo Mobile
It was almost overpacked and tight, but it fit nonetheless lol.
Only drawback would probably be the my sore traps/shoulders after carrying it for an extended amount of time, but again, it was quite overpacked. I'm not sure if that's a design issue or the an over packing issue. I haven't tried any other backpacking bags, so I can't say.
Another plus I like from this bag is its size, it being a 40 liter bag, it allows us to use it as a carry on and bypass the check in fees. Also it prevents you from over packing, say if you were to have a 65 or so liter bag. It's just more stuff you'll be tempted to pack.
If you're looking for a reasonably priced bag that will prevent you from overpacking, this is for you!

My new carry on

My new favorite carry on bag. Very well made bag with lots of storage space.
Great for a lot of stuff, except for major backpacking.

I bought this backpack last year (May 2016). I still have it in top condition with me now. I rarely use it due to how hard the shoulder straps are. I'm giving this 4 stars b/c at least it's reliable. I bought it for $39.99 (& am scorning myself b/c of those $5, even though I had a ton of gift card credits) because it was 1 of the best rated cheap packs out there & I was going to a job as camp counselor in Ocoee, TN for the entire summer (even though I only lasted a week). I would tote this around with all my hiking gear in preparation for a trip I was planning to Big Frog (which I had to turn around from & get rescued on the road due to lack of water b/c of a drought that was setting in at that time). The pack got along just fine on that trip & was able to house everything I needed for that night & then some.
I tried to use it for an Outdoor Adventures trip in the AT, but was advised against that & I instead opted for 1 of their packs that was frikkin' HUGE. Comparing that pack to this orange guy I got, I will tell you that this Mountaintop pack is NOT OPTIMAL for long hiking trips. You have to be a packing guru to fit everything you need for a 3-day-long AT trip.
Nowadays, I use this pack for when I go home on school breaks because it has plenty of room for me to house my clothes & other things necessary for my break. I also use it for when I go to an event & need a change of clothes ready for me (I bike everywhere I go & therefore get sweaty). Definitely great for stuff like that, but not so much for decent hiking excursions. A 2-day trip, definitely. 4-day trip with minimal stuff & survival skills, sure. Any trip that requires a lot of stuff, nope. You best use a hammock to sleep in if you use this pack. No way a tent will fit.
Will post pics if necessary.

Perfect as carry-on for 2 weeks in Europe
dershwin✓ Verified Purchase•May 15, 2017
I just returned from 2 weeks in Europe with this backpack! I'm 5'2" and exceptionally weak, and I was able to run the length of LGW to catch a connecting flight with this baby strapped to my back. It slid easily under the seat in front of me (stuck out a bit, but no flight attendants seemed to care) as well as in the overhead bin. Airlines flown - British Airways, Vueling, Lufthansa, Condor. Also, the top front pocket was perfect for easy access to liquids bag and headphones. I was very careless with the main compartment zipper and it got caught a few times but was easily freed, never stuck-- really appreciated that. Zippers seem to be high quality to endure all the tugging.
Below is what I packed in case you're interested. I had room leftover for small souvenirs and other purchases.
[In a 11.8 x 10.6 x 4.7 inch packing cube]
1 light jacket
3 dresses
2 pairs of sandals
4 t-shirts
2 tank tops
swimsuit
4 pairs socks
bra, underwear
toiletries
makeup
[In a 11.8 x 7.9 x 4.7 inch packing cube]
phone charger
sunglasses
glasses
some other miscellaneous things (tissue packs, etc.)

High Quality - Low Price-tag!
Meghan Hartung✓ Verified Purchase•September 16, 2016
I read all of the reviews I could on backpacks before making the choice to purchase this one. I used it traveling to Colorado this summer and I was not disappointed. Flying in - this was a perfect personal item on the plane; I've never flown with such ease. Perfect size to fit below the seat in front of me while managing to hold 5 outfits and 3 books. I flew with Frontier - which has a history of picky carry-on and personal item policies but this pack was ideal.
While hiking - it felt like I wasn't carrying a thing. The straps are high quality and the back support is fantastic! When the clouds opened up and decided to rain on us, the built in rain fly was a life-saver. The bottom of the pack opens up to an attached rain fly that fit easily over the pack when I was in a hurry to stay dry. I've used it several times since purchasing and I haven't found a thing I dislike. It's great for a weekend camping getaway or a simple day hike. I highly recommend this pack to anyone looking for high quality at a reasonable price.
