I used these for kayaking in Lake Superior. While I wasn't actively trying to step in water, sometimes it was unavoidable. As long as I didn't stay in too long or get above the top of the boot, my feet were dry. I wore thin and slick sock liners underneath to prevent that wet feeling you get with neoprene and my feet stayed warm, dry and comfortable the whole time.
I don't know how long they'll hold up in the long run, but they feel sturdy and the seams seem solid.
