These straws are just as they say and work great! They are perfect for long tumbler type cups and would fit in a Starbuck's Venti drink. I really enjoy the cleaning brush they include and use it to clean the hole where the straw goes through in the lid of my cups! They are durable, colorful and the perfect size.

I'd done a lot of research looking for straws to use for drinking hot coffee from insulated 20 oz. mugs (Yeti, Ozark, Epic Tumbler, etc). The concern that flipped me from looking at stainless steel straws to glass was the issue of high heat transference to mouth/lips/tongue from metal. On the same day these arrived came a news release "Starbucks Recalls 2.5 Million Metal Straws After Reports of Mouth Lacerations" which made me very happy I'd chosen glass.

Inert Glass Straws - no BPA concerns

Love these! I use a covered clear glass ball jar style cup with a lid and opening for a straw on my bedside nightstand. This straw is larger in diameter than a standard straw - understandably as it would be fairly fragile if it was any thinner in diameter. The straw fits through the lid when the small rubber ring around the straw hole opening is removed. I purchased stainless steel straws as I didn't like the thought of a plastic straw in my water that is sometimes on my night-stand for days (like I said it has a lid). My feeling is - "who knows if straws are BPA free" so I thought the stainless would just be a more reasonable healthy option in comparison. The stainless straws just didn't do it for me. Something about the metal straw bugged me so I ordered these glass ones. I really don't use the glass straws for any other purpose than my bedside water so I really don't have concerns with durability. I imagine children and regular use could really put them to the test. So far I think they are fairly sturdy and have had no problem thus far. I recommend these -I like that glass is inert and easily sanitized.

I love glass straws! While the hole is the standard straw size, the entire straw is not. Obviously glass would have to be thicker than plastic or stainless steel so that it wouldn't break as easily. These do need to be treated with care because they still are glass. I usually break a few here and there, but they are worth having! I love how glass keeps the flavor neutral of whatever you are drinking. I would like to have shorter glass straws for kids cups.
