As you probably guessed by my buying 5 pounds of this rub I like it. The ONLY negative thing I could possibly say about this rub would be that having HOT in big letters does this a disservice. It IS NOT really all that "Hot" when compared to other rubs labeled 'Hot'. And especially not as hot as some of the other rubs we like in the south that have tones of Tabasco in the forefront.
This is a GREAT all-around base layer rub, especially for pork products like ribs or Boston butts. Gives good color 'cause Malcom does love his Paprika. :) And you can layer other rub on top to create any flavor profile you want. And it is a good chicken rub for wings when your guests can't really handle a truly hot rub. Just enough tang to know it is there without causing people to go soak their heads in the tub to put out the fire. Get the 5 pound bag as it is LITERALLY half the price of the rub in the small shaker bottle. And yeah, you will use it.
