Drum was of decent quality. It could definitely use a damper. The ringing is severe. It may sound better with some good heads on it but I returned it because the cheaply made carry bag came with a broken zipper. Even if it wasn't broken I don't think it would have lasted very long. You'll definitely need to invest in a more durable case for your kid!

The quality of this drum is amazing.10 Lugs.An excellent strainer.And the stand that comes with it is so beefy it could hold a horse.
Plus a big rubber pad to practice on any table top.
Buy this and put top of the line heads on it and it will be the last snare drum you will ever need,
Wanted to add....the stand that came with my order is far heavier than the one in the pics My lucky day??.The ONLY issue I have with anything is the stand is made more for a standing position,It sits quite high,but still usable with a full set.
