This little sound machine runs for 20 minutes, which I think is perfect! I don't like the idea of a sound machine running the entire time during sleep, so I like the automatic shut off. It has several different sound/music options, though we really just use the nature sound. My little guy seems to prefer that the best. It's also really easy to transport. If I need to take it somewhere with me, it fits easily in the diaper bag or a suitcase.

My older daughter has a crib mat that plays soothing tunes for 20 minutes when we lay her down to sleep, but Fisher Price stopped making it, so I couldn't buy another one for my youngest! I took a chance on this little giraffe, hoping it would play similar music, and it does! 20 minutes of instrumental lullabies and then it times out. It hangs perfect on the outside of her crib. I was skeptical because it was labeled as 'portable' - I was worried it would be dinky - but it is super cute, and is just what we needed!

This little giraffe is so sweet. I ordered 2. One for the car seat and one to use at changing time etc. As I have come to expect from this brand; this item is well made. Plays a number of melodies or nature sounds. Volume is easy to adjust. Very easy to use. Have only had this a short time but thus far am pleased with this item.

I'm a first time mom and my little is currently 13 weeks old. I bought this item as I am out and about a lot and he would fuss quite a bit in his carrier/car seat.
