Somebody borrowed my wife's (expensive) professional hair dryer at work without asking, and was careless with the plug. The plastic broke, and was unsafe to use. I found this replacement plug here on Amazon, as a much more cost friendly measure than replacing the whole hair dryer. It met the electrical specifications needed, so I ordered it. It was quite a bit larger than the original that it replaced, but the build quality is far superior. It was really easy to wire up and assemble, and works great! I would buy one again in a heartbeat if needed. Just make sure to check to see if you need the grounded version or not.

A bit large for devices like hair dryers but still worked fine. The cord won't be as secure and the rubber boot won't make it water resistant but it'll still have that important GFI protection. Next time I'll look for one that is a bit smaller. The plug is very high quality though, and is sturdily built. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on a pressure washer or other outdoor heavy duty equipment.

This worked for my needs, which was repairing my wife's hairdryer. The original plug failed, and resoldering the leads to the board of that old plug was an extremely temporary solution. This plug was exactly what I was looking for. It includes screw-clamp terminals, an internal strain relief for the cord (this is very important to ensure the leads stay secure over a long period of use) and a reasonable rubber grommet to support the cord and discourage water entry to the guts of the plug.

If I'm nitpicking, the only downsides of this plug are the large size (it's not huge, and the size is probably necessitated by the user-serviceable wiring compartment) and the single provided grommet which is sized for a relatively heavy cord. My hairdryer is a salon-style unit with a heavier-than-average cord, and the ID of the grommet is still larger than I'd like for this application. It'd be great if the product included a few different IDs of grommets to match with various cord sizes.

The build quality seems very solid. Hopefully the "guts" are built to last, as well.

My local home centers only had a 3-prong replacement GFCI plug, but my power washer only had 2 wires. This was a quick (less than 5 minute) replacement, and salvaged an expensive piece of equipment.
