I used to always stick my hand in a coffee bag to scoop out coffee, and I hated that coffee grinds would stick to my hand. This container makes it so much easier and pleasant to scoop out coffee. A large container would fit a small bag of Starbucks coffee no problem, but a large bag of Starbucks coffee did not quite fit. I bought a coffee scoop that clips on, and I keep it clipped onto the clasp. I'm not super knowledgeable about coffee, but I buy different kinds of coffee and it keeps them fresh and well retained aroma.

Canister looks good and easy to open with one hand. The timer/calendar thing on top is unnecessary for everyone except the most picky of coffee aficionados. I'm not one of those, I just didn't want to have to stick my hand in that Starbucks pouch one more time and get coffee grounds all over my hairy hands...
When looking at canister size, I'm glad I went with the larger one. This left enough room inside for the scoop that came with my Ninja Coffee Bar.
