I purchased one of these to carry aboard our 34' Sailboat as a spare as the original, 1987 fuel pump was still installed and, well, 30 years is putting it high on the list of likely to fail items. It did! I switched out the Original pump, primed it by sucking on a tube attached to the outlet of the pump. Connected it electrically and all done! works a charm. But then I didn't have a spare on board. So I purchased a second one.
