This thing is really cool. I got this as a Christmas gift for my friend and we were both amazed by it. We stuck it on the side of our friend's refrigerator (by the hinge so there was some metal for it to really grab at) and the three of us took turns trying to pull it off with no luck. We are all big guys and we could not pull it off the side without sliding it.

It is a good magnet for the price, but I would say the pulling force is about 75-100 lbs. I stick it to my steel door and can easily pull it off with one hand..(Or maybe I am a lot stronger then I think.) It is very good to start off with but I would invest in a larger one as soon as you can.

Not sure if it's as strong as it's rated but even through my super thick Mohawk carpet I can feel the nails pull. I do wish it was maybe 33% stronger but it gets the job done as a nail finder. Just be careful because this thing is no joke.
