Fixes the dreaded "Pull Key Wait 10 Sec." error.
Car Guy✓ Verified Purchase•July 30, 2023
I was getting the dreaded C5 Corvette "Pull Key Wait 10 Sec." message on the Driver Information Center (DIC) every time I went to start the car. Checked low battery condition - nope. Steering column lock was already removed. I looked in the passenger footwell to see if any modifications had already been done to address the problem and found that an LMC5 module had already been installed. It turns out it was an older version (3 wires) without the "Brown Wire Mod" capability which addresses this issue. I ordered the new version and installed it and problem solved. Installation is easy - just replace 4 wires connecting to your BCM with the four from the LMC5, cut the brown loop and remove the column relay (see instructions) and you're done. No more annoying message, plus if you stall the car it doesn't display the message and shut off the fuel, which was an issue too. Kit comes with everything you need if your column is already unlocked. If not, order the kit with their unlocker.
Resolved "wait 10 seconds"!

C5 prototype convertible Corvette began getting "wait 10 seconds, reinsert key" messages.
Steering column would lock preventing departure. Steering column in my case would unlock if jarred repeatedly via palm strikes to steering wheel . Suspected solenoid since steering column lock recall was performed years ago. To my disbelief, this worked exactly as the directions indicated it would.
Quick summary: make sure column is unlocked, unhook battery, remove passenger side access to expose fuse box and body control module box with 3 connectors, Disconnect all three, swap wires as indicated attaching the lc5, carefully make sure each wire is firm, ground, tuck away any excess wire, replace module and plugs, replace cover, hook up battery, and DONE! Didn't even have to clear codes.
No problems so far. Great product and I hope this summary helps someone as minor problems like this will naturally creep up with age of any machine.
One other assist, I previously replaced factory style battery (lead acid) with red top Optima (hybrid gel). This will prevent low voltage which can trigger security including steering column lock and fuel shutoff. PRIOR to the gel hybrid, the car killed batteries.
Will update if any complications.
Update: If at any time after install your driver info center says "Service column lock" try unkooking the negative side of the battery. Wait a few minutes & reconnect. This is in the directions but I didnt notice bc my error message oddly showed up later. Now working perfectly with no error messages and the error has not re-appeared nor generated any diagnostic codes since then and it has been about 2 weeks..

Looks good, but did not fix the security light.

Easy install, extremely clear instructions. Just the slightest bit of common sense and anyone could install with the details they give! Unfortunately just didn't fix my problem.
