This bag is a 10 for me! It's versatile and holds a ton. It's great for bigger projects. I'm currently making a baby blanket and it holds everything no problem. Probably not big enough for an afghan. I do like that you have easy access to the project without having to open up the bag completely to get to the yarn! It's worth it and I would buy again.

I love this bag. It arrived right on time, decently packed. It did have a little plastic-y odor, but not as bad as I feared, and a few hours out on the clothesline in the sun cleared almost all of it. (It lost the rest over the next couple of weeks.) Even though I read the dimensions before ordering, the bag is larger than I expected, but I wanted the roominess, and the seller gave accurate measurements. I wanted a big bag! The reason I gave it 4 stars under "For Traveling" is it really is large, making it awkward in a crowded or narrow area (such as a train, bus, or plane, or at an event). It does not fit easily next to my legs in the car (even in the front) or even in an SUV. HOWEVER, it has so much thoughtfully laid out storage space inside and out that it is probably the ONLY project bag you will need to take, saving room and hassle. There is storage in the clear lid (this model also has an opaque lid that zips closed over the clear one, which is definitely worth the extra $20.) Below this, there are 5 compartments for yarn, and a larger storage compartment (for projects or more yarn), which are each sewn to the bottom of the case, so items stay where you put them, and will not slide out underneath into another area. Another nice feature is the smooth gromits (6 small, 2 large) in the clear inner lid, above the yarn compartments; handy if you are doing stranded knitting (or just want to keep your yarn in the bag while knitting). There is an open pocket on each exterior end. There is a large zippered pocket across the front of the bag, with several handy storage features in it: elastic loops for hooks/needles/pens (9 larger and 6 smaller) above a shallow pocket to keep the items from slipping out; a long, open pocket; and a vertical, zippered pocket. There is another large, zippered pocket on the back of the bag. The bag can be carried with the handles, or using the shoulder strap, which is adjustable and has a shoulder pad. The whole thing is sturdy and constructed with care and forethought. When traveling, there is room for a tablet or light laptop (the bottom of the inside of the bag is padded!), phone, e-reader, book, magazine, your yarn and supplies, and, if your project is not too big, you could even store a change of clothing and some toiletries in the project compartment, making a separate carry-on bag unnecessary. I do not know if a full bag will fit in an airplane overhead storage area - you'd need to measure it after you pack it, and compare it to the specific airline's guidelines.
I bought this because I am knitting a series-accurate Dr Who scarf, which requires 7 colors of yarn (I have 2 skeins of each color). I needed a project bag with room for all that yarn, a few accessories, my pattern, and a project storage area large enough to hold a 12-foot scarf. This bag provides all that, and more!

The media could not be loaded. THIS is the Best Crochet/ Knitting Bag Ever! I purchased a LARGE size in pink for myself and a MEDIUM size in purple for my 7yo daughter who is learning how to crochet and knit. I love, love, love this bag! It is PERFECT for traveling. I currently keep it at the side of my bed because I am currently crocheting a project (twin size blanket for my 6yo son). My hubby was in the hospital recently for surgery and THIS was the only bag that I brought with me. Just threw my wallet (in the project holder part), cellphone with otter box cover in the clear side pocket, car keys, compact mirror, and lip balm into the front zipper pocket in the mesh holder. When he went to the OR I threw his wallet and cellphone in with my wallet. As I waited in the waiting room I sat the bag on the floor or side table where I was seated and crocheted while I waited. When they called me to the recovery room I folded my project quickly, laid it on top of the bag, grabbed the handles and off I went. I would 1000% recommend this bag!!! It is PERFECT!!

The medium sized bag for my daughter is PERFECT FOR CROCHETING but the standard sized KNITTING NEEDLES DO NOT FIT in any of the pockets or holding areas so you have to store them diagonally in the project holder part of the bag. I would 1000% recommend this bag for CROCHETING. See the attached video.

Best bag ever! Keeps everything so nearly organized. So easy to take anywhere! And plenty of space! I got a small.

My wife loves to crochet. Whenever we go somewhere in the vehicle, she brings everything she needs to work on one of her projects. This would often mean bringing a bag to hold several skeins of yarn, a bag for her hooks, another bag for her other crochet tools, then her purse. Being the loving husband I am, and tired have having to help her lug bags to the car every time we went somewhere, I purchased this bag as a gift to her.

I was a bit surprised at how large the bag actually was... not only in size, but also by the number of compartments. The size was a bit larger than I visualized, but that was my fault. The seller was accurate on size. I was very impressed with the number of compartments. My wife is easily able to fit all of her hooks and other tools that she needs in the side pockets of the bag.

The bag is capable of holding up to 6 balls of yarn, but my wife doesn't work that way. She usually brings full size skeins of yarn. She is capable of putting 4 full-size skeins of yarn in this bag. Sure the bag bulges a little, but she is determined to bring everything. She has definitely put the durability of the bag to the test by overstuffing the bag with yarn. This bag has held up wonderfully to the challenge.

The only complaint my wife has about the bag is the pouch that holds the project when not being worked on. The flap of the pouch has two magnetic "buttons" to keep the flap closed. These buttons open a little too easily at times. Nothing ever falls out, but the design makes it quite easy for our 1 year old daughter to get to the project when my wife doesn't put the bag out of reach. Again, my wife doesn't work that way.

What I love most about the bag is that she can fit everything she needs into the bag, which means I no longer have to help her carry her "workshop" into the vehicle every time we go somewhere. I highly recommend this bag to any husband tired of carrying crochet and knitting bags for their wife where ever they go. No, seriously, this is a great bag.
