Too hard for a 7 year old. A child this young would have to have a lot of adult help. I would think more suited for a 12 year old. Nice kit, I just didn't see it was age appropriate for a 7 or 8 year old.

Definitely requires adult supervision and guidance for a novice to have success cutting, pinning, how to start and finish, etc. Right at the start she was able to make all the choices and learn stitches. We're on 3rd project and looking forward to more. To get started, everything you want is in the box! After 1st projects, in addition to what's in the box, it's useful to have on hand some extra quilting fabric, polyfill, small containers for pins and such plus a small starter bin or shoe box to keep things organized.
