I purchased this item because the stippling on the XDs is very aggressive and prolonged shooting wore out my hands. I was a little concerned the application of this product to the firearm would be tricky in getting everything lined up properly. Although it took me a few attempts to get the alignment correct, it wasn't too difficult and probably took around 10 minutes total. I had some extra material bubble up on the back strap, but after using a hair dryer (to add heat) the grip smoothed out well. All said and done, I'm really impressed with Talon and would purchase their products again.

Pleasantly surprised at how precise this grip is cut to fit Springfield XDs. All edges laid down and after heating it as described on the box exterior... it looks like it was part of the manufacturer's original frame. Excellent quality and grip strength is increased making my purchase a great buy. Now I'll have to outfit the XDm as well. So thin and so strong. Looking forward to a wear test review later on. Highly recommended to friends looking to smooth-out the rough frame grip provided by Springfield. Mostly use bare handed so needed a smoother feel but still grippy.

The stock grip on the XD-S is very aggressive and I find uncomfortable. I've never used TALON grips before so this is my 1st time. Installing the adhesive backed grip was not as hard as I anticipated. I followed the instructions and carefully positioned it onto the gun grip then used a hair drier to lock it in place. If you use the larger back strap on your gun then the TALON grip is ready to glue on as is. But if the smaller back strap is used then the grip will have to be trimmed. Fortunately TALON placed guide lines on the grip indicating where and how much to cut off. I use the larger back strap and the grip wrapped around the gun grip making an almost invisible seam at the back of the gun grip.

PROS:
o The TALON grip has made the XD-S grip very comfortable, very positive difference.
o It looks very professional as if Springfield manufactured the gun with it on.

CONS:
I don't have any cons, this is a quality product that adds so much comfort and it looks professional.

This is by far the best upgrade you can do to an XDS for the money. I held off for a while because the stock grip pattern never really bothered me, even after putting 50-100 rounds through it at the range. But as summer came and the temperatures rose I noticed my grip was getting a fair amount of sweat on it while carrying. The last thing I would want is my grip getting compromised if I had to use it because of a sweat! So I ordered this rubberized grip and have absolutely no regrets, in fact I wish I would have gotten it sooner. The grip is roughly 1/16" thick, adding a total of 1/8" extra thickness to the gun which in my opinion is pretty negligible. The rubber grip is FANTASTIC, not too sticky but the coefficient of friction is drastically higher than the plastic grip and yet 10x more comfortable. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to save their hands at the range or carry with confidence knowing that you'll be able to keep a firm grip on your XDS!

Easy to install, haven't even looked like they want to start peeling off and most importantly the grips are AMAZING. It feels like the xd-s just sticks in my hand now much better then the hard plastic standard xd-s grip. For the small price you pay and the easy assembly this a no-brainer modification every xd-s needs. I even went to the site and ordered the grip extension grips for my 8 and 9 round mags.
