I must have owned about 30 of these when I was a kid. I kept taking them apart. They made them in all different shapes and sizes.
They have about 15 cents worth of parts inside, and were designed about 20 years ago, but the casement is nice and the games played like I remembered from when I was a kid (early 2000's) when you could buy these in every grocery store that had a games section (like cards and UNO and stuff, not xbox) so I have no complaints about the price tag.

This is definitely NOT what my son was expecting. He spent his birthday money buying this. I realize that there is no way that there will be 5000 games in one handheld device, but come on! There are only 10 games, each having a varying speeds and levels. How can you feel good about calling each speed or level of a game a different game? Not good. He was bored with it in about 15 minutes. It might be good for my 8 year old son for a few minutes longer, but not for the 11 year old.

I got this product for my son and although we can not use it at night time in the car, he still enjoys the games.
