Just tried this lock for the first time. It works great. Even though I've never thought about locking my laptop when I'm in public places, I bought this to give it a try and I must say it's worth it. We pay a lot for our laptops, MacBooks, chrome books, etc so we should do all we can do to safeguard it when using at public places. I will start using this lock when I'm not at home.

Item is as described and well made! Dark "bluing" look to the lock. swivels both vertical and horizontal Lock works well.. easy to set your own combination! Comes with attached velcro strap for ease of storage! Cable is long enough to lock up your laptop without restricting use! Excellent lock for the price. Strong adhesion to your laptop or device to detour easy theft. While the wire is very difficult to stretch to the 6', it is sturdy. It can be cut, but somebody would have to be fully prepared with very large wire cutters with leverage to really snip it - it would be obvious in the public eye.

I received an excellent quality computer lock, easy to set up and even when I had to use a magnifier to read the instructions I could set up my own combination password in no time (next time I will check the Amazon page to read the manual online). One thing I can say, there is no difference between this product and others that cost almost double.
The unit is pure metal (cable is steel) and it includes separators in case you need to add some separation between the lock and your laptop. I didn't need this feature, but I assume if the manufacturer included the 3 pieces some equipment may need them.
One think. The lock was too big for the security slot of a 2-in-1 Dell Inspiron 13 7000. Apparently, some ultra-book style computers come with a smaller security slot and this set does not include a sticky safety plate that you will have to buy apart. Having said that, the lock worked as expected on an HP laptop, a Brother scanner and a curve monitor Sceptre all of them with standard security slots.
The bottom line, I saved money, got a fast delivery (2 days) and I have a high quality computer lock. It cannot get better.

Strong cable and easy to use

Instructions are clear and it was easy to use.
Adhesive plate is very strong. I imagine with enough time and a thin flat edge you could get it off, but definitely not from just pulling, and it'd look pretty sketchy if you were doing that in a public place. I don't really like the idea of sticking some hefty plate to my computer, but this piece is actually pretty small and not too heavy.
Cable is very sturdy. I went at it with scissors (why bother if the cable can't survive that) and I can't cut through it.
