Better in dirt than sand
the Bakers✓ Verified PurchaseOctober 8, 2023
These stakes work really well in dirt. In Florida however, there is quite a lot of sand in the soil. I have found that in areas where the soil is sandier, laying a paver brick on the irrigation tubing and then staking works much better than staking sans bricks. I leave the paver brick on the tubing for a few days to help train the curly tubing. And the stakes haven't moved since, even with tons of recent rain.

I purchased these so I could add more stakes to my drip system. I had originally installed it using those metal U shaped things. They were okay but when the ground gets wet, they want to push upward. So, I got these plastic ones to replace the metal ones. They worked GREAT!! I did have two of them that bent when I tried to hammer it into the ground but our ground is very hard and dry so I'm not complaining about that. The 5-inch length was perfect.

If you went to but these at Lowes/Home Depot they are $1.50 for a couple So these are great value. They are easy to use and you don't have to worry about getting tetanus.
